As some of you know, I'm in the market for some new boots. While searching around for options and pricing, I came across a company, Botach Tactical. Though they appear to be a very well-known seller of tactical gear, I knew very little about them.
I was shocked and appalled and what I read. And it wasn't difficult to find. Knowing a great many of their customers are likely to be our men and women of the Law Enforcement and Armed Forces communities, reading some of these stories made me sick to my stomach. A good number of stories I had a chance to read were in fact written by members of LE and our Miltary. More than a few were/are stationed overseas. To keep from typing it all over again, more details can be read in the email I sent to the folks at Botach Tactical.

Honestly, I only did business with Botach once or twice, both times the order included the IMI ammo that they used to import. I can honestly say that I was very satisfied with them when I used them. They certainly appear to have a lot of complaints and what not but I was happy with my service. I know of other guys I work with who have had good luck too. I think the secret as one person suggested one time here was to make sure that whatever you order from Botach is in stock and not needing to be ordered. Most complaints seem to originate around their ordering system.

Ordering from Botach is right up there with having unprotected sex with a trans-gender prostitute in the Carribean. It may be great - once - but eventually something's gonna turn green and fall off and you'll regret it in the long run.
Or so I've been told. |

Several years ago I was a regular Botach Tactical customer. When they advertised a Sale, no one could beat their prices. I was a customer for about a year and then experienced some problems with out of stock items. They would seem to forget about my out of stock items (that were charged to my credit card) and would not answer e-mails or phone messages (I had a hard time getting someone to answer the phone). I ceased dealing with them after I lost several hundred dollares in back ordered items.
Over a year ago I saw that they had the first extended Sig P229 .40 cal. 14 rd. magazines and I took a risk and ordered some. The items arrived without incident. After that I tried a few more orders. One had items out of stock. But, this time, instead of receiving a single e-mail about the out of stock item, they actually called me and asked if I waned to cancel or wait for stock to arrive. I opted to wait and the items did arrive as promised. Since then I've ordered and received some expensive items without incident. I think that maybe they had a change of employees since their problem years and have now corrected thier customer service. In any event, I placed enough orders in the last year to trust them again. You can take my experience for what it's worth, but, I do shop with them now, especially when they offer their sales. |

Maybe I need to give them another shot. Having someone indicted might have motivated them to improve their customer service.

Well, I haven't had occasion to use them since the time in my original post, so I can't comment on their recent customer service. Along the same lines, I don't mean for my first post to be an endorsement. I have heard many horror stories, however I started buying from them before I'd heard anything bad and in 5 or 6 orders I have not had any problems. Your last link (the only one I clicked on) is clearly just a site full of anti-semitic garbage. I'm really not sure how the central figure relates to Botach. If I'm supporting someone selling junk to our Army, I'd like to see some details.

I ordered some blueguns from them a couple of weeks ago. Their website said nothing about them being out of stock or backordered (which I believe they make allowances for) so I ordered up. I used the coupon code "stimulous" for a 10% discount. A week went by and no blueguns or even shipping confirmation. I emailed them and got a reply back saying they would check into it and get back with me, which they did not until I called them 3 days later. Then they told me "those items were shipping to them in 3 days" That would have put the blueguns to them the first part of last week. There is still no sign of shipping yet. I'm a little more than concerned now. I had no idea of their poor reputation.

I've heard plenty of horror stories about Botach but I've yet to have a problem. I was leery but the deals were too good to pass up.

I have ordered from them several times. Not a single issues with any orders. Shipped UPS ground to my house (cross country) in a week.
I have also heard of several complaints about them, but thankfully none for me. P220R - Pro Shop AEP and SRT P229 DAK P232 CMMG AR-15 |

I have ordered from them three times. Two times were fine. THe third time I ordered a pair of boots. Three weeks later no boots, recieved an e-mail saying they were waiting for them to come from the company. Next time it was they were shipping directly from the company to me. Next time I asked them what was the status of my order and they ignored my e-mails and dodged my questions on the phone. This is definitely one of those companies to be leary with. I won't order from them again, and if you make an order ensure it isn't something you actually need as you very well may never get it.

I bought several colt m635 magazines from them and never had a problem. Shipped right away and were exactly as advertised. If the stories provided by the op are true (especially regarding the defense contrcting fraud) i will not order from them anymore - unless there is a change in ownership / management.

A couple years ago I was a customer, and had good luck with hem. then the order from hell. It took 3 months and Citibank to get it straightened out (i.e., my refund). Generally you can't beat their prices. For me, the jury is still out on their CS.

 Anyways the issues I've had with Botach is common to many of the companies in this industry that don't adjust their website per their inventory. Prepetual back orders. That is why I only buy from companies that have real time inventories like: Top Gun Supply Brownells MidwayUSA And Companies that remove products from their website when out of stock like: Tactical Response Gear Skd Tactical ------- Mr. Doom and Gloom Tacti-cool: adj - Any technique, firearm, or accessory that a person disagrees with.
