Love it for Cruz, disappointed with Culberson losing and SHOCKED Sessions did.
Got the main victory but it is bittersweet.

More illegals, more commies invading. More losers wanting free shit. It's not that hard to figure out. The entire Harris county is now blue. It was complete red just 2 years ago. This completes the commie take over of all the major TX cities/counties.

Which is why I'm concerned about the direction this country is headed. I get all that which you are saying but these races in places like Texas and Florida should not have been this close.

Well the Amendment 4 passed in FL, by a huge margin meaning tons of R crossed and voted to allow felons the right to vote, this means 1.5 new possible voters, mostly D.

The margins on Senator Nelson and Governor were in the 40,000 vote range. If just 5% vote D in the future elections come from this new D block we are now a blue state.

A friend of mine told me he was considering voting yes on 4 as these people have paid the debt, he's a dumbass.... even after explaining it he still said he thinks they should be able to vote.

IMO, overall, Texas Republicans did fine in this election.

According to my count, we got Ted Cruz back into D.C., IMO the most important result. The country needs him bad. We also elected 23 Republican U.S. Reps. to the House, out of 36

We also elected Greg Abbott & Dan Patrick into the governorship. Also Republican Attorney General and various commissioners. We scored a perfect 6 with Supreme Court and Criminal Appeals justices and judges. We got half of the Board of Education seats on the ballot. 10 out of 15 Republican state senators were elected, along with 84 out of 150 state reps.

The only puzzling one is the justices for the Appeals Court; it seems only 13 out of 44 identified as Republicans.

Call me optimistic, but it was not a horrific night to keep Texas red.

No, as with so many other retards here in Florida, he doesn't think at all. He feels they should be able to vote because he lives his life via emotions not intellect.

Vitually all the amendments on Florida's ballet passed. Even the one banning offshore oil drilling and vaping. EekRoll Eyes Many of the people who visited polling places yesterday are simply too stupid to even be allowed inside. As I told my wife this morning, we do indeed live in the land of retards.

We lost every local Republican in Harris County. Judges, county clerk, County Judge, etc. I prefer Republicans, but the real pain is losing qualified technocrats based on straight ticket voting. We lost many qualified, experienced judges in the county just because of their party. These jobs aren't very political, if at all. Local trial court judges don't set policy - we just need judges who are even handed and apply the law fairly. Their party matters almost not at all - they don't get any chances to make policy decisions. Same with the County Judge (for non-Texans, the County Judge is the chief executive of the whole county, like the mayor). Harris County's judge is widely popular, competent and very experienced. But partisan voting turned him out for someone with no relevant experience. That is damn shame.

Some of the new Dems will be fine. But we shouldn't lose qualified office holders for no good reason.

Yep, DUMB ASS voters, voting on stuff "that sounds good on paper" without any concern for the consequences.

I mean everyone loves dogs right? Lets ban dog racing in Florida. What about the multi multi millions (billions) of tax revenue that dog racing brings in? Ever think about that folks? The state has to make up that lost money. In higher property taxes for property owners.

Oh, and lets vote to pass the casino gambling back to the people amendment. Sure sounds good on paper. When you look into the details, it is likely to cost state tax payers half a billion to a billion dollars in lost revenue. Again, lets pass that cost onto the property owners in Florida in the form of higher taxes.

My local school district amendment to DRASTICALLY raise taxes passed as well, so all in, after all this nonsense, my tax bill next year is looking to be $700-1000 more than it is today. While I'm fairly well off and can absorb the higher cost, fixed income retirees and lower income folks will be hit hard with these tax increases. And I hope it hits hard the ones that voted for this shit without thinking of the consequences.

Fucking idiots.

It's going to be real apparent how inexperienced the new judge is when the next hurricane hits Houston. As JAllen used to say, "Nothing beats knowing what you're doing."

My wife spent some time yesterday mingling with the Robert O'Rourke supporters with her Cruz sign, along with half-dozen other Cruz supporters. She said first- 1) they were really rude and confrontational. and 2) They had a weird vibe, as if O'Rourke was some kind of God. It reminded her of how Democrats thought of Obama back in 2007. She was freaked out a little by their cult-like behavior.

One last post before this thread floats off into the great electric sunset...

For those who thought 'Bater was running for the White House, it appears you're not alone.

The original article:

Beto O'Rourke Blows Up The 2020 Democratic Primary
David Siders, Politico, 11/19/2018
http://www.politico.com/story/...ratic-primary-995353

The short version:

- There are so many Dem contenders for the Presidential nomination in 2020 that Dem fundraisers just don't know what to do.

- As a side benefit for the forces of light, truth and beauty, there's one hell of a lot of volatility in terms of determining who will be the nominee. That means extra stress, uncertainty and infighting among the Dems.

- The fact that he lost so well against Cruz and that he "generates so much excitement" means that all the little donkeys' hearts are aflutter over whether or not O'Rourke will run for the White House in 2020. Never mind that losing a Senate race hasn't been a winning strategy for a White House bid since the mid-19th century, he raised an awful lot of money!!

- All the Dem donors and bundlers are waiting with 'bated breath to find out what O'Rourke's gonna do - and when.

Yeah, I know it's early, but -

It's good to know that the Dems still haven't figured out who's got the inside track for the nomination to run against Trump the second time.

More confusion, more competition, more and more this looks like a rerun of the primary that put Dole up against O. Which in turn suggests that the Dems, at least at this point, are assuming Trump will get a second term. If that wasn't the case, there'd be at least a couple of prominent Dems who would not only be salivating at the chance to run, but moving heaven and earth to get their names and faces in the media at least once or twice a week.

By the same token, the run-up to the 2020 primary should be a back-stabbing extravaganza or (stops to snicker like Dick Dastardly's dog, Muttley) Hill the Pill is off to her third coronation.

While those of us in Mississippi focus on winning the last Senate race of 2018, and the rest of us enjoy Thanksgiving in peace, let the great Democrat rumble begin!

He may try to jump into the presidential race, but I predict after losing in that Primary he will turn his focus on being the next Texas Governor. From my perspective he's the best opponent the Dems can possibly put up against Greg Abbott in 2022. (Lupe Valdez? Seriously?)

Given the legwork he's done, it's kinda surprising that he didn't immediately shift to that path. OTOH, Abbot's a stronger opponent in Texas than Cruz is.
