A biological male who identifies as a transgender woman won a women’s world championship cycling event on Sunday.

Rachel McKinnon, a professor at the College of Charleston, won the women’s 35-39 age bracket at the 2018 UCI Masters Track Cycling World Championships in Los Angeles.

McKinnon, representing Canada, bested Carolien Van Herrikhuyzen of the Netherlands and American cyclist Jennifer Wagner to take home the gold.

McKinnon celebrated the victory on Twitter, writing: “First transgender woman world champion…ever.”

Allowing biological males who identify as transgender women to compete in women’s athletic events has been a controversial subject, as critics have argued that it puts the female competitors at an inherent disadvantage.

McKinnon did not immediately return an email seeking comment for this article.

McKinnon in January was quoted in USA Today arguing against requiring biological males to suppress testosterone as a requirement for competing against women. (RELATED: High-School Boy Wins All-State Honors In Girls Track And Field)

“We cannot have a woman legally recognized as a trans woman in society, and not be recognized that way in sports,” McKinnon told USA Today.

“Focusing on performance advantage is largely irrelevant because this is a rights issue. We shouldn’t be worried about trans people taking over the Olympics. We should be worried about their fairness and human rights instead.”

McKinnon also compared restrictions on biological males competing in women’s events to racial segregation.

“This is bigger than sports, and it’s about human rights,” McKinnon said to USA Today.

“By catering to cisgender people’s views, that furthers transgender people’s oppression. When it comes to extending rights to a minority population, why would we ask the majority? I bet a lot of white people were pissed off when we desegregated sports racially and allowed black people. But they had to deal with it.”

Personally, I love it!

It's the ultimate lefty nexus of derp.

Do you not let her compete? I mean, after all, we go by feewings, not biology, right? So it's discriminatory to not let her compete. And since they're the party of inclusion and stuff, they can't stop her/him from competing as a her.

But if you do, the trans win almost every time. It's an unfair advantage, one that all but the most intellectually dishonest can see. But they can't complain about that either, or else it is admitting there are things men can do that women can't. And apparently that would unmake the world, so that's out.

It's hilarious.

I'd say so. From the picture above, the dude doesn't even look like a chick.

So far trannies have insisted on competing in what are, relatively speaking, obscure sports like track and field, or, as here, bicyling. I wonder what'll happen when a trannie sues to be able to play in the WNBA.

Why not? The modern trend seems hell bent to make a pig’s breakfast out of every activity.

Maybe that’s ok. Long ago, far away, these activities were the point, entrants wanted to compete for the fun, the pride. Eventially, commercial advertising and PR got involved. Then as the activity became popular, came TV, and professional competitors. Think how much those have impacted the sports. The emphasis isn’t the competitors, but the eyeballs. Things change to maximise the eyeballs.

These women are competing, but that isn’t the point. They are just the show.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Remove all gender and age limitations on all sports.

Everyone competes.

Whoever is the best, wins.

Period.

I think I read somewhere that she'd recently switched gender teams, and had a blowout gender reveal party at the local Applebee's. Think it went a little sideways, IIRC....

This is great, let the liberal, progressive democrats become unhinged with this crap. They got what they wanted. I wonder what bathroom he pisses in? Actually, I don't give a rats ass. Let the left reap what they sowed......a bunch of Bull Shit. From time to time I see on news where parents are outraged because some transgender is competing in a sport and wins head and shoulders over the girls that are participating. Stupid, ass hole liberals that pushed for this transgender BS, now it's coming back to stick it in their asses. Hopefully they not just putting the head in, but the whole....you know!

Well, i think it's disgusting. And beyond that it's infuriating.

The fact that this nonsense has permeated so far into our society I find at the minimum troubling and at the outset maddening. Y'all can laugh it up like it's a big joke, but I don't find this stuff in the slightest amusing.

I was wrong before in saying it's hilarious. But then I didn't know somebody was actually wrapped around the axle about a women's bicycle race that they weren't competing in, and had no stake in, that has no lasting impact on anything...that a tranny won.

Now that I do, now it's hilarious. Big Grin

Freak show. To title it correctly for Katie and Rachel - Male athlete wins Women's cycling event. Against men he would not have qualified, but against women he has a chance to stand on the podium. As said before, more of the lefts war on women. They justify allowing men into a women's event and can't seem to let women celebrate their own achievements.
