I had to put him down today. She couldn't reach parts to groom and walking had become difficult. We got her, according to vet records, in May of 1997. It was time, but it's hard.

Sorry to hear that, Fred. Twenty years is an eternity, unless you just lost your buddy, in which case it's a blink of time.

Hopefully snickers wont be afraid of Hades, Kachina and Ashley (The pups in my signature line)when she meets them on the other side of the bridge. Hades grew up with 2 kitties and although it took THEM a while to warm up to him they became BFFs. Somewhere I have a picture of Tannis, my step-daughter's male cat curled up sleeping on Hades' belly while he was sleeping on his back. If I can find it I'll post it. Most people find it cool that a man-eating, ferocious Rottweiler would sleep like that AND let a cat sleep ON him. Big Grin

We'll say a prayer for Snickers and your family. It can be a rough time having to put down a pet. No matter how prepared you are for it.

Fredward, I am sorry hearing about Snickers.
I have a very special friend, a tomcat named Inky, that I found as a kitten in 1999.

To have a pet for so many years is a wonderful blessing, but also I think it cuts deeper when they leave because they have been part of your life for so very long.

Thank you for taking care of Snickers all those years.
