I read the indictment. So many people had to know what was going on. At the Division I level with the advent of the internet the athletes know who the other elite players are. For example in tennis there are the USTA rankings of all tournament players. One of the so called recruits ranked only 250 out of all 12 year olds in California. That was her highest ranking. Not even competitive at the junior college level. In football all the talented punters go to camps starting in the elementary years. It is not like it used to be. It goes well beyond the people indicted.

The ringleader behind a $25 million college admission scam that implicated dozens of people, including Hollywood actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman, said he has worked with more than 750 families.

William Rick Singer, who pleaded guilty Tuesday in a Boston federal court to racketeering, money laundering, conspiracy and obstruction of justice charges, said in a phone conversation recorded by the FBI that he helps “the wealthiest families in the U.S. get their kids into school.”

Singer said he facilitated 761 “side doors” to admission.

Of all people to open her mouth to be critical here. Guess she just had to get her opinion out. She's too stupid (and egotistical) to foresee the push back. Not the first time.

Critics pounce as Warren says she's got 'zero' sympathy for parents in college admissions bribe scandal

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., said she had “zero” sympathy for parents caught up in the college cheating scandal during a Wednesday appearance on MSNBC.

Warren did not elaborate on her feelings after being asked the question as part of a number of rapid-fire questions posed by “Mornin’ Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski.

Critics pounced on Warren, who has been embroiled in controversy over her alleged Native American heritage.

“Elizabeth Warren just said she had ‘zero’ sympathy for the parents involved in the college admissions cheating scandal,” Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel tweeted. “It’s ironic that she’s so offended given that she lied about being a minority to climb the Ivy League ladder.”

Warren, a 2020 presidential candidate who is originally from Oklahoma, had for decades claimed to have a Native American heritage; her critics say she used it to advance her career by promoting herself as a “minority.” Warren denies that.

Earlier this month it was reported that Warren herself indicated that her race was "American Indian" in a handwritten registration form filed in 1986 with the Texas State Bar.

President Trump regularly mocks Warren on the issue, referring to her as “Pocahontas.”

Fifty people have been charged in the college admissions scandal, including more than 30 parents and nine coaches.

"This is just stunning," Warren told ABC News Tuesday. "To me this is just one more example of how the rich and powerful know how to take care of their own."

Indeed. Maybe she's just blasting them because they weren't as clever as her in finding "side doors".

If you slightly tweaked this scheme and had the money going directly to the universities (as opposed to individual coaches and middlemen) and took out the fake test scores you could literally arrest entire ZIP Codes in Westchester Co, Connecticut and Silicon Valley. Applies to pre-schools, middle-school, high/prep-school..

Perhaps I'm just cynical, but I see a lot of community service coming for a bunch of "first time offenders". Any kids get expelled yet? Any doubt real athletes from IMG and other "prepatory" schools also had tests doctored? Real justice is all too rare in situations like this.

From TMZ:

Lori Loughlin's Daughter Olivia Leaves Yacht of USC's Board of Trustees Chairman

As Lori Loughlin traveled from Vancouver to L.A. Tuesday night to surrender to federal authorities in the college bribery scandal -- which got her daughter, Olivia Jade, into USC -- Olivia spent the night on the yacht of the Chairman of USC's Board of Trustees ... but she's off the boat now, TMZ has learned.

We've learned 19-year-old Olivia was on Rick Caruso's yacht in the Bahamas. Caruso's daughter, Gianna, Olivia and several other friends were spending spring break in the area.

Gianna and Olivia have been friends for quite some time, occasionally posting photos of them together on social media.

Caruso, a billionaire who has major real estate holdings including The Grove in L.A., tells TMZ, "My daughter and a group of students left for spring break prior to the government's announcement yesterday. Once we became aware of the investigation, the young woman decided it would be in her best interests to return home." Olivia is off the yacht.

Caruso was elected Chairman of USC's Board of Trustees last year. We're told the Board will NOT decide the fate of Olivia and other students involved in the case. That decision is left squarely in the hands of the University's President.

I wonder when we’ll be seeing some really interesting names like Clinton or Obama. It would be the last time we hear about Trump’s so called collusion. (Sorry for the semi-political drift, but it is possibility that would be truly glorious).

Regardless, there are a lot of very worried, highly placed folks that have yet to be caught up in the net.

I am sure there will be more to come. The scheme if you wish to call it that was rather crude and not very accomplished.
Photoshopping pics of purported athletes, and keeping all those people quiet. In reading the 166 page indictment it seems that more than one high school guidance counselor had questions as well as a nosy neighbor. I wonder how far it could have gone with a real pro at the helm of this conspiracy.

Apparently, he had better things to do than to deal with his child's education. He supposedly just left those duties to the wife. In these matters he was a bit detached it seems. I guess that's possible.

Loughlin's daughter sounds like a really spoiled little hole.

Lori Loughlin's daughter Olivia Jade was aboard USC official's yacht in Bahamas when mom was charged

Why the fuck does this do-nothing, know-nothing spoiled little brat have all these endorsements? 'Social media influencer'?? Fucking garbage is what that is. Damn.

I just love it. She was on spring break from...what? Studying hard and going to class? Roll Eyes Shove her worthless ass in a woodchipper. Hopefully, all of this will help destroy the (undeserved, un-earned) reputation of this spoiled little brat.

I might have thought of mocking what the MSM is calling a "yacht". A quick Google of the Invictus made me realize that at 215' it's legit, and I'd be happy with either of the tenders!

It will be really interesting to see this scam once fully fleshed out and after it drags under all the folks who were involved, or complicit, at each of these schools.

Those 'tenders' might each be worth more than ten row homes on a typical city street.

Just in case someone wants to bribe me, how to I hide $400g from the feds?

The Boston-based agents received a tip from someone connected to the securities fraud investigation about the alleged $400,000 bribe paid to the then-head women's soccer coach at Yale to fabricate athletic credentials, the sources said.

The coach then cooperated with the investigation, according to the sources, which spiraled into what prosecutors called the largest college admissions cheating scam ever prosecuted in the United States ...
