Another day, another oppression. Add it to the ever-expanding list of butt-hurt students.

Well, if they are peacefully protesting, let them pay whatever the $ is for attending Howard. No state funded students can attend however, on threat of their scholarship being revoked.

I'll pay taxes for students willing to learn, you wanna protest, give me back my money

Among the demands: "the immediate disarming of campus police."

Our country is like the story about the slow death of a frog..gradually increase the heat of the water until it's too late and he's cooked.

Consider sanctuary cities where there is talk of secession; teachers/professors brainwashing the students; disrespect for law enforcement; disregard for history and our Constitution; miscellaneous things like road rage, racial unrest, fake news, acceptance of porn, and no doubt a bunch of other examples I'm forgetting.

IMHO we're already in the early stages of civil unrest and uprisings and possibly war. It's just that it's gradual and the pot hasn't yet reached the point where it's boiling over.

All I know is that America is in trouble.

From Wikipedia,
quote:

Howard University (HU or simply Howard) is a federally chartered, private, coeducational, nonsectarian, historically black university (HBCU) in Washington, D.C. A majority of its administration, staff, and students are black. It is recognized by the Carnegie Foundation as a research university with high research activity and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

So it's a private school....

quote:
Hundreds of Howard University students continued a takeover of the school's administrative building Monday, vowing not to back down until their demands are met – conditions that range from homework and class exemptions due to "mental and emotional" health issues to a plan to disarm campus police.

It seems to me that these snowflakes should just be expelled.
Maybe future students will appreciate an education focus rather than a "social justice" focus.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Who would benefit from the elimination of racial prejudice at Howard? In other words, who is being systemically oppressed at this historically and majority black school?

Are there some oppressed white students? Indians? Hispanics? Or are the still oppressing the black students?

That's an excellent question. Perhaps the token Asian guy they let live in a broom closet on campus. Maybe the white janitors.

I think this is simply a case of not wanting to miss the party. Gotta have those pics of yourself, face contorted in anger, a balled fist thrust in the air.

Ol' MLK has been gone for 50 years and he would not believe what is going on these days. Backwards, backwards, backwards. They are going backwards and they don't have the first clue about it because they are completely blind.

Victim/entitlement mentality. I/we/someone/anyone was once cheated. Therefore, I demand my recompense, in any form I choose, including the right to ignore any and all laws I wish.

And as a local college teaches, victims don't have to prove their claims, such are deemed valid.

It's the same lack of logic, emotion-based crap that fueled the Occupy crowd, BLM, Antifa, ect. We want, we feel, therefore we should have. How many members in any of these movements could have held their own in a real bare knuckles debate? Probably less than 5%.

I did learn a new term from the article though:

Ableist
A PERSON or People who discriminate or social prejudice against people with disabilities. It can also be someone who judges or makes fun of someone with a disability or handicap.

Example: Someone who makes fun/discriminates someone in a wheelchair or someone with down syndrome.

I'll add it to the thousand other "ist's" that are commonly used these days.

When I was assigned to DC, Howard had a local TV program. Recall on where the student president and a professor were debating racism.the student profoundly said: "If your a minority, you cannot be racist!" The professor lost it and about fell out of his chair.
Clearly, the students at Howard haven't changed.
