muddle_mannShooter targets back to school event - runs into a good guy with a gun
I fell like the cheif should have said, "Thank God there was an armed citizen on hand to stop this tragedy from getting any worse" or something to that affect.

“Peace in the City,” the event which was held in Titusville, Fla., was billed as a “day of fun” with “no violence"

And this wasn't in some isolated, way out in the sticks 'park'. It is a community center, nearly sandwiched on South Street between the county courthouse complex and a sheriff's department complex.
Some parallels to the weekend in Chicago, except
a) small town, and
b) the good guys haven't been disarmed by their government. .
"According to WFTV, the shooting stemmed from an old grudge.
The unnamed shooter went into the park looking for someone he had fought with three weeks ago over a basketball game, the station reported. The individuals faced off in a fistfight. The shooter left, returned with a gun a few minutes later, and opened fire in the crowded area, police say.
As the shooter was crossing the parking lot, he was confronted by a bystander, who was licensed to carry a handgun. The shooter drew his weapon again, and the bystander shot him in the head."
