I'm sorry about the posting that turned out to be fake.

I picked it up on Drudge. Who knew? With truth often stranger than fiction these days, it's getting harder to tell.

If they had said both were born in Roswell on 7/8/47 or something, we'd have a fair chance.

"Fake news" to me is kind of true but slanted. In my triathlon days, I finished 2d in the over 40 age group in a half Ironman event. My b-i-l, the SEAL who was one of the founders of triathlon back in the '70's, finished 1st in the age group. When I got home, our mother in law asked how it had gone. I told her I finished second and Bill finished next to last. THAT's fake news.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Although I did wonder about the unusual amount of "click-bait," I didn't suspect it either, so don't kick yourself too much. Smile

And your BIL, JALLEN, would have said you were the first loser... Razz

"If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

Ha! The first loser doesn't quit. That's what earns respect in that crowd.

In reality, he considered me one of his triumphs, having turned me from a skinny middle aged cigarette sucking geek to a Superfrog Most Improved finisher. He admired tenacity, and effort.

Pelley's so slanted that CBS has to use special cameras to make him appear upright while he reads us what we should think.

They don't think it be like it is, but it do.

Don't sweat it. I thought the Progressive Insurance plug in was fake, but it's a real thing. My wife makes fun of me cause I wanted the Domino's Pizza high tops with the order button.

I only trust The Onion for my news. In all seriousness I find your posts insightful and thought provoking.

Sorry, but the triathlon with swimming, biking, and cycling began in France in the 1920s, although there were even earlier formats which had running, biking, and canoeing. It was not "founded" in the 1970s.
