It so happened my wife was to have back surgery last Tuesday and before that she made up meals for us and stocked up on many things, frozen dinners, canned soups, canned meals (beef stew), snacks, water, etc., our freezer is full. Glad she had the surgery because the hospital this week has delayed elective surgeries and she may not have got hers if it was scheduled this week.

I am not doing anything other than my normal weekly grocery shopping, which is not easy as I am not finding normal things I need like eggs, chicken, cheese, etc. I will have to go to the store when they open if I want to even have a chance.

The only thing I would like to have is hand sanitizer as I have not been one to use it so I don’t have any. I would like to use it in between hand washing like when walking out of a store.

As far as ammo, I am good and have been for a long time. If it really came down to food for surviving from being forced to stay home, I have enough food for my wife and I to last us at least 1 year and have been prepared that way for years.

I am not doing anything special. I've been stocked 60 days ahead of time for years. Ammo, over 5000 rounds various types.

Walked down a block to the nearest gun store to me. The line was out the door waiting on background checks. No ammo showing in the display cases and only a few handguns.

Expensively dressed young woman holding a brand new handgun box was getting into her Cadillac Escalade. She held that box like it was the crown jewels. My guess is that she had no idea of how to use it.

Sign of the times...

My wife and I, in the event we have to leave the house, are at MOPP 4. We have a PDDA set up in the driveway for our return.

Seriously though, we have everything we need for an extended stay, except potatoes. Somehow we failed to buy a bag of spuds. I may brave the Zombie Apocalypse tomorrow during daylight to secure 10 pounds of Idaho's finest.

I don't understand a lot about this panic. When I was at walmart today I needed my puppy chow. There was not one bag of dog food in that store. Not one! Yet, the bread aisle was stocked completely full. The meat aisle was probably 80% full as well.

Hell, I had to go to Orschelin's to get the damn dog food. On the bright side though, gas was down to $1.88.

No potatoes, I mean zero, at either of the two grocery stores or Super Walmart in our town of 4,000. WTF?

I wonder if there are morman" prepper" websites ? And if so, has there been any uptick at all in the number of threads ? A morman lady that I knew in Central Phoenix had an entire garage wall full of pretty much everything a person could want , on it. Including one fridge and one chest freezer full of stuff.

I am set, plenty of mags and ammo, but as far as food goes, the grocery stores are barren, shelves completely empty, no T.P. cleaning supplies, meat shelves empty, canned good gone, half the lights were out in the store, it looked like a zombie apocalypse movie.

Walmart shuts down now at night so they can stock the shelves for the morning rush, people waiting in line to buy up all of the toilet paper.

Jerks...

This is reminding me of all the grey beards buying up all the .22 ammo and then reselling it...
