Anybody have one?
I have seen them at the gun shows for a long time. They demo them by sharpening peoples knives while you watch and wait. A few months ago I finally remembered to bring the dullest knife i could find. The vendor had it shaving sharp in about 5 minutes. The last gun show I went to was to buy one of these and the guy wasn't there so I ordered online and I like it a lot. Never seen a Warthog, but I will swear by my Chef's Choice
It'll sharpen the dullest of them all to shaving quality in about 2 minutes flat. Best $100 I ever spent. |

___________________________________________________________ "ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ!" (mo-lone lah-veh) When Xerxes offered to spare the lives of Leonidas, his 300 personal bodyguards and a handful of Thebans and others who volunteered to defend their country, if they would lay down their arms, Leonidas shouted these two words back. They mean, “Come and get them!” They live on today as the most notable quote in military history. |

I bought the regular one without the marble base and opted for the 1000 grit rods. RIP Graudstarks Hades March 16th, 2008 RIP Ashley March 6th, 2007 They were good dogs and good friends. |

My soon to be Ex kept that one I USED to have. However, the warthog dosn't require electricity. Which comes in handy when you live in hurricane prone Florida. RIP Graudstarks Hades March 16th, 2008 RIP Ashley March 6th, 2007 They were good dogs and good friends. |

So how good does it work?
I have a couple of little ones that are similar (about 2" X 2" with crossed rods) that I keep in my BOB and my hunting pack, that work well for quick sharpening. Is it similar to that? |

Similar. The sharpenng rods are diamond coated and you can change the angle from 17, 20, or 25 degrees. It is spring loaded so as you draw the knife down through the rods it keeps pressure on the blade. This will explain it better: http://www.youtube.com/warthogamerica RIP Graudstarks Hades March 16th, 2008 RIP Ashley March 6th, 2007 They were good dogs and good friends. |
