Looking for an exterior light I can switch on, on the inside wall that will illuminate a small set of stairs. An led that will last as it would be used all the time. Thanks

Thanks Big S, I just do not do the Amazon thing.
Maybe Ace, homedepot, Walmart, etc.

If solar will work then these might be an option....

Thanks KH, It is pretty shaded there so not sure solar would work.

Does it need to be battery powered instead of house power?

Rather than switched, consider motion detection option perhaps?

Maybe, but a switched is preferred. As it will need to be on when exiting the structure.

I have a number of regular and LED lights controlled by both motion sensors and smart switches based on the SmartThings platform. I can control lots of stuff like lights, door locks and plugs with this system.

Home depot had a $10 battery operated, motion activated led that seemed good. I did not pull the trigger as it required three C batteries which seemed odd to me. Still looking. Thanks guys.
