I offer you this bit of automotive porn. A one of one Pagani Huayra. Pagani's are simply automotive art on a level head and shoulders above everyone else making cars (and the pricetag reflects it). And this car, although insane and over the top, is simply spectacular. Anyway, enjoy the video, I have to go get in my old Ford F-150 and head home. Frown

I was lost at the $60k bag. Personally, I'm just fine with a pickup truck...

I guess I'm a bit more of a Carol Shelby fan. "Just make it go fast".

The huayra is truly a work of art, but I can’t stand what the owner does to his cars. I’ve watch a few of his videos and he likes to do special things like a Hermès version. He’s got a Hermès Veyron and he’s working on a Hermès Chiron now. I get the impression that he doesn’t really care about the cars, (he replaced all the trim on his veyron with platinum- because performance, right?) he just really wants everyone to know that he has more money than you. So while it’s over the top, I kind of see it as taking a dump on the vision and creative genius of Horatio Pagani

Okay, I guess it is a form of art, but the expression “More money than brains.” comes to mind. For less than he has in that, I could probably get a CJ and a single pilot type rating.
I’d have to agree with Bytes on this one.

And yes, my daily driver is a pickup truck.

I have to agree. You can argue Ferrari, Bugatti, Konigsegg, McLaren, even Lambo, but the Pagani is the pinnacle. Looks, style, performance, exclusivity, it has all of it. And I look fantastic in one.

I really like Pagani but, this was painful. She couldn't speak to anything about the car other than all the Hermes touch points, hell, she couldn't even say carbon fiber, 'oh wow, did you hear that?' smh.
Drives it on the street, didn't even get out of first gear..to be a tall, blonde, Australian, car-girl 'influencer' Roll Eyes

I'm sure you're well aware that to buy a new Pagani, one must have a personal relationship with Mr. Pagani. And to do a car like this that required insane amounts of coordination between the Pagani engineers/designers, the Pagani factory, and the Hermes designers/fabricators, you can bet Horatio had a whole lot of say in whether or not this project was approved or not.

Personally, I don't really spend much time mulling the owner's motivations or intent. I simply marvel at the incredible design of the car. I even love the gloss chocolate carbon fiber which is an odd color to put it mildly.

Its all about perspective. If you had so much money that dropping a couple million on a car was no more impactful (likely far less) than you or me dropping $45k on a new truck, you wouldn't sweat the purchase. And I feel quite sure that ole Manny didn't get wealthy off of a shortage of brains.

If you've got it in the bank, its yours to spend however you choose, and you won't catch me second guessing or challenging your intellect or motives. If it brings you joy, more power to you. Smile

Some time ago I had a gentleman who owned a Ferrari tell me he could neither see, nor did he care, what was going on behind him given the velocity he was generally traveling. Razz Smile I will agree with you though, a Pagani probably wouldn't make a very good daily driver or commuter car. The fuel economy would also suck. Wink

Oh, wait... 1 of 1?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I don't care what Manny Khoshbin spends his money on and I think Horatio simply understands one of the most basic rules in sales - don't make it difficult for someone to give you money. I don't understand the point of spending money for the sake of spending money. I just don't think anything that he did makes the car any better than it would have been otherwise.
