Just wondering what type of TV people have. If you have LCD or Plasma, what have been your experiences, and how long have they lasted? From what I hear, they don't hold up as well as older sets.

Question:
What is your primary TV?

Choices:
LCD
Plasma
CRT ('regular old-fashioned kind')
I don't got no stinkin' TV

I had a problem with glare from the front window for years and then the TV went out. I went shopping and found out I had to research TV's because there were so many available. News flash at ten LCD TV's don't have the reflection as other models do. Now I have a new TV and no reflection modern technology is great.

When I'm in the US on vacation my primary is a 42" plasma screen. Over here in Kyrgyzstan I have a 19" LCD that barley gets used (by me at least), and at work is a CRT.

Have Hitachi 60" DLP in the living room and a Sharp 37" LCD in the bedroom.

I actually think the DLP has the better piture of the two. I am still facinated about how good the DLP is. I love it.

My two most watched TVs are CRTs, a 34" and 24" Toshibas. I do have a LCD projector in the home theater and a 20" LCD in the bedroom.

Old 32" LCD and my three year old is a 50" plasma. The LCD is fine, maybe 8 years old; a panasonic.
But the picture on the plasma; pioneer elite; is just amazing. If it lasts 8years I will be happy since replacement costs are going down so much.

He,He, I remember replacing penny's worth of vacuum tubes in our old color set to get another year of use out of the thing. Smile

I have a 56" Mitsubishi, 1080i RP unit, in 16:9 format. I also added a laser etched anti-reflective glare shield as an aftermarket and it made a huge difference in the picture quality

I saw Best Buy had a 52" Samsung 240mhz 750 series LCD on the wall at an unadvertised $1699.

I drooled a lot, but for the time being it has to wait. We have 3 regular CRT tv's.

I have a 64" rear-projection DLP. Far brighter than LCD or plasma. I bought it because the house we lived in at the time had mostly windows in the front room, which faced south.
