My condolences. I have one who's getting close to that bridge and I'm not looking forward to him crossing it.

Jeff...I know the feeling of letting her cross over...it's so hard to let a friend go...but you did the right thing at the right time...if possible take comfort in that...

Sigmonkey's post sums it all up...a picture is worth a thousand words Smile

Thanks all. It was a very tough week for all of us here. Buddy is looking around for her and it's heartbreaking. Our vet was booked and was only able to get us in a week after we spoke to her.

Lucy ate like a queen this week, steak, eggs, liver, carrots, all of her favorite things. It was tough when the clock ticked down over her last days.

This morning was rough but this is the greatest gift we can give our pets in my opinion. Our Vet came to the house. We will never do this any other way.

The house is very quiet. Lucy managed to fill our hearts and our home. It seems empty without her.

Thank you all for your kind words.

No matter how many buddies we have, it's amazing how much quieter a home is with the loss of just one. A pall of sadness falls over the home and everybody in it -- including the rest of the little buds.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds...

Our black Lab Leia is wondering why I am hugging her. They are our best companions no matter what, we just have to remember they feel the same way about us as well. She was safe, with those she loved, in the place with all of the familiar smells. No better rest can be had.

Sorry to hear this. Believe she is happy and carefree over the bridge waiting for you. Our Lucy went over a couple months ago.
