This may be a good time to teach your son that not all adults are good people, and not all bad people are handing out candy from a windowless van. Get him comfortable talking to you about his day, every evening. He's not too young to understand the concepts of truth, half-truths, and lies.

I retract my statement based on the new evidence.

Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed.
Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists.
Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

Good for you. PETA does nothing but teach people to HATE meat eaters and hunters.
It is unbelievable that a private christian school let a far left organization into the school. Someone or more there is out of one's mind to let them in.

PETA are massive hypocrites and are all about getting money from fools.

Their "shelter" at their Norfolk HQ is an abattoir. Highest kill rate in the state.

Actually I think elephants and other animals in zoos look as though they are fully, 100%, miserable. I have no objections to hunting them, but I think zoos are best for animals which are injured and cannot be returned to the wild. Zoo raised animals, that would be okay as well. But not captured in the wild.

Here was the school's response:

Dear Mr. Benxxxxx,

Thank you as always for your email. I appreciate your frustration and share your sentiments. What was communicated was that it was presentation about animals to help prevent bullying. Other neighborhood school administrators had passed this opportunity along to us.

If I had known that it was PETA presentation, I would not have followed through with it.

I apologize and assure you that moving forward, I will personally and carefully vet opportunities and presentations as we have done in the past with more vigilance.

Once again, I’m sorry and will make sure that it does not happen again. I will take some time next week and speak to the students to make this right.

Please let me know if there are any questions or concerns.

It seems they got duped. I think they'll be more careful in the future.

I encouraged them to send letters to parents too, stating that they do not endorse or condone PETA and their actions.

Tony.

Maybe you can get Ted Nugent to present the other side to a school assembly.

Hell, that's almost worse. They let someone come in without know who they were or what they were going to be presenting?

Absolutely. They abdicated their primary responsibility.

My son teaches at a private school and he tells me that nothing goes on at that school that the headmaster has not vetted and approved.

When my kid was in 5th or 6th grade in a private Christian school, the "teacher" decided to introduce the class to kwanza.

I lost it! I told my daughter the next time it or anything leftist came up, you are to raise your hand and tell the teacher that you are not to be exposed to this stuff - I'll handle the fallout.

The "teacher" was STEAMED! She's from Norway, totally koolaid drinking leftist.

What an education I provided for her!

I did a Q&A on Thanksgiving, you know, the kumbya bullshit they try to represent it as.

I explained in detail with attributions how it is the celebration of the dissolution of the socialist Mayflower Compact in favor of capitalism.

Her head exploded.

I cautioned her to keep the lefty diatribes to herself, do not introduce pagan holidays into the Christian school I pay heavily to have my daughter attend, and I'll be watching you.

Over the edge of a flat earth, hopefully. We as parents get to choose how to educate our kids. Real science, real facts, common sense, and faith, too.

My son is in 4th grade and learning California history. Comes home and tells me about how offshore oil drilling is bad and global warming and some other assorted horseshit. I tell him to tell the science teacher about all the oil spills since offshore oil drilling started in 1896 in CA. Or the natural oil on the ocean surface that Drake saw in the 1700s when his boats pulled into Santa Barbara. I can only wait until the section on the mission system is taught. I have to de-program the kids when they get home each night. I can afford private school unfortunately and probly wouldn't be much better.
