You left 2 bacon bits on the plate. What's up with that?

I too prefer Miracle Whip and iceberg lettuce. A few years back during a road trip through Virginia I had one where they substituted fried green tomatoes in place of normal ones. It was an outstanding twist on this classic. If you like fried green tomatoes you'll love them on a BLT. With Miracle Whip, of course! Wink

That's our go-to bread when we summer in the Sierra Nevada. Gotta go native, yano. Local farmer's market REAL tomatoes, toasted sourdough. Heaven on the lake.

Ooh, sourdough bread does sound good. Cheese and sourdough bread it is next time!

I'll also defend the person who hates tomatoes. I'm usually not a fan either but for some reason they fit just right on a BLT.

Ditto. Skipping the L leaves more room for B. And my Bristol Farms supermarket offers a seedless rye that has rye flour listed as the second ingredient (after water). Some "rye" breads have rye flour about eighth on the list, even below vitamins.

Serious about crackers

Fresh BLTs are good, but I have fond memories of something much better.
