Thats a great picture, seems some respiratory stuff has been going on all over the country, I had it twice, although riding a motorcycle in 20 degree weather just after the first time probably wasn't the smartest idea...

Remote helicopters are cool, had a couple of the little ones for a while, basically suck at it, with some practice drones are cool..

Yeah, like last year about this time when the flu put me on a ventilator to start my 3 week stay in the hospital which included a pacemaker and notification of my family 3 times I wasn't going to make it. Then dialysis for a couple of months when my kidney shut down from the heparin.

Praise to God for letting me sneak by.

Grrrrr, still sick with the sinus and lung infection.

In the past, these things would come and go and a dose of antibiotics would be the course of action and the infections would simply fade and go away.
This isn't the case anymore, they become very potentially life threatening.
That and the doom and gloom that message puts in my mind.

I figure my mindset to be that I'm healthy as a horse until I'm not and that can happen quick like, a matter of hours even.

Dr. Anne, my oncologist, always laughs at the healthy as a horse comment telling me I am never healthy as a horse.
I know she's right but I try to stay positive and carry on as if I'm healthy as a horse until I'm not.
That's all there is to it.

Like I say, I do pretty well but the truth is I can be easily knocked over by a feather, and such does make me view the world of the living and the spiritual differently these days.

I used to typically have one track "me" thinking for almost all my life.
But not anymore.
I have two simultaneous mind tracks/thinking running at the same time.
One is the "me" track but the other is the religious/spiritual track.

Sometimes they are in agreement with each other and congruent.
Other times they are not.

I am different now in that that I always have 2 succinctly different mindsets going at the same time.
Interesting and they never stop, 24/7.

I have always figured that the day I can't learn anything new is the day I die. I have been carrying this thought since I was about 10 years old.

Fortunately for me, so far there is a lot more I am capable of learning, well that is until I'm not.
So again, there is that.

I think I have said this one before, but I also always counted on the old saying that only the good die young.
That should have meant I would live a long time.

On the other hand, I am not really good either because I am not going to die young, I am 63.

I guess that makes me in between good and bad, and that would probably be pretty average.
I don't care for being average though, I like being unique in all the world.

And that is what I have always really wanted to be... unique in all the world.
The Little Prince did it, so can I.

Well that and feeling healthy as a horse until I'm not.
That one is a new addition.

As a fellow Christian, I will say this, from my heart. The testimonies you have given here have been supremely inspiring, to me, and many others. Your faith and testimony are far above average, in my opinion. To be valiant as you have been in the midst of your extended trials has been for me an example unique in my life experience.

I was thinking today (kinda odd I know) that there are so many disagreements I have with people.
They may be personal, political or whatever.
Some of these people are just plain wrong, perhaps some truly evil. Some are even non believers.

It easy to give lip service to the words written hereafter, but it is quite another thing to actual believe and feel this way in your heart:
God loves them as much as He loves me.
It doesn't matter who they are or what they do.

I do feel this way in my heart... finally.
I know it's true.

What a great gift of revelation to have with regards to my heart and mind.
Those words have true meaning and aren't just lip service anymore.
Praise God!

Thanks.
Long time no hear.
I hope all is well with you.

That haircut place was great, it's called Cookies.
Miles sat in an elevated toy car.
We all had a lot of fun.

The recent scan results were not all that great.
They think they see something new at the top of the right lung.
However, I have never fully recovered from the lung infection and there is a lot of gunk (their term not mine) in that area so it is hard to tell what is what.
Therefore, I am back on antibiotics and in 4 months, the next scan will be the judge of what is going on.

Praise God either way it goes. The extra time I have had has been amazing and such a blessing.

I decided a few days ago to replace the hot water heater at my house before it quits on us.
It was getting dicey.
We went with a tankless system (pricey) but I really like it.

The grandson was over yesterday when I got home from treatment and I broke out the little rc 107G indoor helicopter.
He sure enjoyed watching it.
I would land it and he would grab it and bring it to me to make it go again and laugh when it went airborne again.

That said, he was really cute as when it would take off, he would stand behind one of my legs until it went up significantly and then watch in amazement.

My drones are easy to fly as well.
My Blade 230S helicopter on the other hand, was a total disaster for me and wildly out of control.
After 2 crashes, there wasn't much left of it.
I ordered a downgrade 120 S so next week we will see. That was a quick 200 bucks.

We also planned another trip to Hawaii for May, so there is that.
Older daughter wants to rent a board and paddle and go out to the edge of the inlet and have me bring the drone down on her and take some video.

It will be a snap because I can launch it and fly out to her without flying over people.
It should be fun.

It's hard to complain when the reality is that I've had a wonderful life, so I try not to.

It's going to be hard to remember that in my last moments as I suffocate, but it's still true.

Prayers the antibiotics work and the next scan is in your favor. This is a 3 year old thread, how amazing you are still here and enjoying time with your family. When it is your time to go I hope it is peacefully in your sleep, but God willing that is still a ways away.

What's the old joke?

I'd like to die peacefully in my sleep like my great grandfather did and not like the screaming and panicked passengers riding in his car at the time.

lbj—- Question for you. I think I remember you being a smoker. If you were for a long time, you probably got a little COPD. Does your Pulmonologist have you on a regimen of a Z Pak every 6 weeks? Not just one time but every 6 weeks. Besides cutting down on the chance of getting respiratory infections, for some reason it also has an anti inflammatory effect in the lungs. If you are not a smoker, never mind.
Just trying to help and keep you healthy.

Unfortunately, yes I have smoked most of my life.

I don't have lung cancer though, just kidney cancer that spread to my lungs.

I still pull 95 to 98 on the oxygen finger sensors when I go twice a week to my exercise classes. 96/97 are average for me.

Why that is only God knows.

My creatinine levels for the one kidney run an average of 1.8 now, so not bad considering.
That said, some test shows numbers that see me headed for some brittle bone somethingoranother which is related to having only one kidney which is running at 40%.

When I got out of the hospital last February, it was running zero and I was on dialysis.
Once it restarted, I was running 20%, then last summer 30% and last week the nefrologist says I am at 40% and probably stay at that level.

They all think given what I have gone through, I am doing better than expected.

I am definitely slowing down though.
Part is age and the other part, the illness.

I am almost 64 now, so I am inching closer to a more normal average lifespan. Not bad.

It has been 3 years now which is a lot better than at one time I wasn't going to make it past Christmas 2017 after the Votrient didn't work.

I remember those months in summer 2017 very well.
I got sent home with no real viable treatment as an alternative back then.
Then in August, Nivolumab was offered and I'm still here.

In any and all cases here, Jesus Christ is in all this, trust me.
That's who the true credit goes to.
Being born of water and spirit has it's advantages.

Seriously, all doctors say they are quite amazed I am still here doing as well as I am.

As I say, I'm healthy as a horse until I'm not.
