I like that both have a happy smile.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I just hope he doesn't end up being like his dad.
If he ends up like mom, all will be well.

Dad has only visited him twice since he was born, hasn't taken a blood test, and hasn't offered any support emotionally or financially.
Plus, I truly believe he is a sociopath.
He enjoys saying things which hurt people. I've seen it more than once.
The things he has said to my youngest daughter would make your skin crawl.

If he will walk away and never come back, we would be just fine with that.
No blood test, no parental rights.

It's a shame little Miles may grow up without a decent father, but I am of a mind that he is better off without a poor father.

Fortunately, we have the financial resources to raise him and his college education is already assured.

I will say though that Miles' father is pretty decent looking and it is easy to see that in him along with my youngest daughter.=
It will be interesting to see what he looks like a year from now as things begin to be set in stone.

As far as oldest daughter and her picture with me above, I wonder how she got that photo so right with only one take.
I mean we were walking and never missed a step.
Just how did she do that?

Mrs LBJ is still down for the count because of the cosmetic procedures, which look pretty good BTW.
However, I will be glad when she is more ambulatory and get out and about.
Right now, some daily things she does for us just aren't getting done.
That's OK and temporary.
It will help me out some when she gets back to normal.

Yes, it is unfortunate that at age 62, some of the things I have done my whole life need to be done by other family members.
It's great they are picking up the slack.
It sucks because I am no longer physically capable like I used to be.
Pathetic is some ways for sure.

I have to adapt, such is my lot in life.
I see no other way to explain it.

While it is interesting in terms of earthly human experience, it can be difficult here and there watching oneself dissolve away.
I can say with the greatest of certainty that I would not recommend it to anyone if they could easily avoid it.

Yeah, you can take that advice to the bank.
Trust me on this.

Somewhere way back in this thread I talked about jealousy being one of the worst emotions ever. That it eats you up and is all consuming.
Plus nothing good comes from it, nothing... ever.
I learned that early in my life and have made sure not experience jealousy.
I have lived jealousy free going nigh on 5 decades.

It's paid off. I cannot imagine how I would feel walking around being jealous of other people's good health.
I am happy to say that such never enters my mind, or if it does, I am thinking good for them.
I do like that about myself, one of my better traits.

If I could give just one sage piece of advice for anyone reading this...never be jealous or envious and your life will much easier.
I am so happy I discovered this very early in life.

In a couple of months, the whole fam damily is going to Hawaii.
Based on logistics with the grandson in tow as well as my own physical limitations, we decided to go back to the Mauna Kea.

It a magical place I love to be and by being in one place, much relaxation can be had.
Now, the kids will zip around a bit, but not me, though I may drive around the island this time.

With 5 people, it will be a minivan.
But a Ferrari would be fun.

Mrs LBJ and I think maybe a horseback ride would be fun.

Also, I will put aside a day for the oldest daughter and I to fly to Oahu and see the Pearl Harbor Memorial, stay overnight and fly back to Kona.

Wow, what a day, what a watershed day it is.
I began my day like any other and expected it to end the same way.
Well, it didn't.

As many here know from reading this 1.5 year long thread, my Christian faith has never wavered during my ordeal.
I have never ever been angry at God for my circumstance, and whether I live or I die from my disease, my faith has never been shaken, and is rock solid today as it has been for almost my entire life.

From reading this thread, you also know that I have had great concern regarding my daughters and their salvation through Jesus Christ.
I felt it my duty to find a way to reach one or both of them.

About 8 years ago, I met a neighbor who could explain The Bible to me in ways that really reached me.
2 Years later, Bob moved to California.

Since that time, I had not found anyone who could reach me like he did, until today.
Last week, I called a tree service to cut down a dead tree in my yard as well as remove rose bushes and things that had simply grown so much, we are drowning in vegetation.

The tree man comes over this morning and we were talking ( I have used him before) and my disease entered the conversation.
Next thing I know, he starts reaching me like Bob used to do and he invited me to talk with him for half an hour at his church this afternoon.
I accepted. However, I must say I have turned down several invitations from others.

I called youngest daughter who immediately wished to join me, so we went.
We all sat down, Baby Miles included.
After the first Bible quote, Miles gets this grin on his face and is calm blue ocean.

Long story shorter than it may have been, we liked what we heard, took off our clothes, put on some robes and youngest daughter and I were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
She went first and as I watched her I prayed for her and Miles and tears were literally streaming down my face.
We have now joined The Abundant Life Tabernacle church in Johnstown, Colorado.
We will be at services starting this Sunday.

I kid you not, God sent this tree trimmer to us today, it was destiny and God's will. I truly believe that.

While my faith has never been altered or weakened during my cancer ordeal, today it was strengthened.
It's just "right", this is hard to put into words.

My youngest daughter and I are now on a better path than we have been in a long time.

I am so happy right now.
Yes, I was Christian before and am Christian still... and I am proud of it and here once again, as I have done several times in this thread, I publicly reaffirm my faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
