It's difficult to know where to begin with this. My hope was to be able to avoid the subject altogether. The idea that this nation needs to burn because of an isolated instance of a police officer needlessly causing the death of a black man is merely an excuse to allow the complete hatred of this country by a small faction of malcontents to spill out nationwide.

The Floyd incident was merely an excuse for the leftists and the anarchists to get the ball rolling. Since there's no reasoning with them and there's no placating them, I chose to ignore matters. Well, I've had my fill of it. I know all of you feel the same way. The America haters, the police haters, the true racists in the United States are determined to keep doing their worst to destroy this nation, and it seems like only a matter of time before the silent majority must by necessity rise up and push back. We don't want it. We want peace, but they insist otherwise.

I am an American, born and raised. With all my heart, I love this benevolent nation, this grand experiment. I believe in the Constitution. I believe in the rule of law. No civilized society can tolerate the lawlessness which is now occurring and which is now being sanctioned by leftist politicians and their news media co-conspirators. They continue to push us and no degree of acquiescence on our part will cause them to cease trying to burn down this nation. I cannot see how we can avoid the conflict to come.

I've spent the last few days preparing members for this thread. You may wish to review this: https://sigforum.com/eve/forums...0601935/m/5140087274

No bluster, no bold talk. No threats, gentlemen. Members are welcome- even encouraged- to express their feelings on this national crisis, since it affects all of us, but do it without swagger, without threats, and without anger.

Fair warning to all who choose to participate in this thread: While this thread will certainly become very long, do your best to read as much of it as you can, and most certainly, pay particular attention to my posts. As you scroll down the pages, look for my avatar. Stop and read at least those posts. This will keep you out of trouble. Any member who posts to this thread and demonstrates via their comments that they have simply opened the thread and posted to it without reading it will be subject to disciplinary action. If you value your membership in this forum, please heed my warning.

This thread is not to be used as a platform for jokes. There's nothing funny about any of this. Avoid superfluous comments. Avoid nested quotes. That means don't quote someone, who has quoted someone, who has quoted someone, and on and on. This is unnecessary and takes up a huge amount of real estate on the page. In a thread such as this, which is guaranteed to grow to scores if not hundreds of pages, this is particularly important.

Lastly, there should be no other threads on this subject. All content related to the riots must be posted only in this thread.

The topic is now open for discussion.

I too fail to see any other possible outcome, save violence and this realization saddens me greatly. The day coming I fear the most is the day after election day. If the Right wins, the Left will lose even the tiniest bit of caution and sanity they are currently maintaining. If the Left wins, the Right will most certainly believe it was only possible by fraud and see it as a total loss of our Republic. Either way, all bets are off. I simply see no other ending...

Well done, Para.

I suspect that a couple of other threads were in anticipation of this thread:
How many of you own a cannon?
Is your property surrounded by a moat?
Have you a suit of armor and a codpiece?

Care to comment?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I don't know how to avoid the anticipated conflict and there is no movement by BLM, ANTIFA or politicians who either openly encourage or silently acquiesce to the overthrow of the nation.

I worry, strongly to the point of angst, over what this nation will become over the next 4 years if Biden wins. There will be, IMO, condoned violence on an unfathomable scale and yet, the same violence if Trump wins. Today seems like the times when the teams are forming up for events down the road.

EDIT:

It's been shown that my link to George Floyd on Judge Judy is a different Goerge Floyd so I have removed it to avoid confusion.

I am in the Seattle area and very close to one of these epicenters of madness. Words can’t even express the anger I have for the elected officials who not only allow but actively support and promote this insanity.

The only thing that calms me is knowing this is a VERY small minority making a big noise. Just 30 miles away and it is like none of it exists. I see all sort of PRO police posts in my “suburban” and the local politicians are not supporting or entertaining the defund nonsense.

It is definitely going to be interesting watching the build up to November. We have our primary vote next week, I am hoping it will show a shift in this state away from the hard left. I doubt WA will ever go “right”, but it would be nice to at least get the center back in view.

What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

Thank you for this thread, Para. I'll get the ball rolling...

I am sick at heart at what I see happening in this country. I lived through the 1960s, and there is a lot of similarity. But this time, the Left has become overtly violent rather than sporadically. It's because of this pending firestorm that I began adding guns and ammo to my collection.

I believe the flashpoint could be the forthcoming November elections. There is talk of postponing them due to the pandemic, but I don't see that as being anything more than more kindling. For me, it's gotten so bad that I'm considering retiring early, packing up and heading off to a place out of the line of fire. This is NOT my normal mode of behavior!

It's going to get worse before it gets better. That's my $.02.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

I'll confess I've never been super patriotic. I'm a libertarian leaning guy and always saw a little BS in what the Government was hawking. I grew up in Chicago so maybe you can understand my cynicism toward Government.

With all that out of the way, I've never felt more patriotic than I do today.

The recent events are nothing less than assault on American values and way of life. The Constitution, Bill of Rights and rule of law itself are under assault.

Not being able to accomplish these things through the ballot box, the left has embraced mob rule, violence and cancel culture.

All this is being done under the guise of stamping out systematic racism. And it is a facade. But calling or threatening to call someone a racist for opposing Marxism and mob rule seems to be an effective tactic. I find it disgusting.

I dearly respect the Constitution and see the rule of law as the only sane way forward. It's amazing to me many find that controversial.

This is truly a dangerous time in our nation's history.

I don't think sharing the country with radical leftist is sustainable. We'll have to either remain a Republic or descend into democratic socialism.

George Floyd's death wasn't a catalyst it was an opportunity for what these Soros backed anarchist groups want. Look at what else is occurring, people being forced to comply with orders that are in no fashion associated with our law making process. The stifling of any thought or speech that doesn't fit the narrative of political correctness. Losses of employment and finance for supporting a person, idea or organization that these anarchist groups don't like. A constant barrage of propaganda disguised as news to further an agenda. Fortunately we have a percentage of our country and most of the members of this forum who don't and won't be swayed by the culture that is causing this, although quiet I think more of us exist in our country than we know. Thankfully we have a President who will not back down from his principles and loves this country whole heartedly. This will end it may not end quickly but it will, with Gods help and strong rightful men and women we will overcome these criminals and terrorists. The will of the true American shall prevail.

I shoot at the Seattle Police Range, and speaking to many officers there, they are at wits end about the City Council. Frustrated beyond belief. These are good men and women and they are taking on considerably more personal risk as a result of SCC regulations that limit how they can respond to the anarchists.

I second all the previous posts. I live in San Francisco and I feel I live in a prison. I must be careful of what I say out loud. This city and this state have gone to hxxl. I always vote but in this city and in this state my votes are overwhelmingly overruled. It is very depressing, annoying, and disgusting. I fear for the USA.

My Dad was a Police Officer and everything I was taught to do and respect has been turned upside down and blamed for the problems with America.

Who got calls in the middle of the night...My Dad.

Who was working the Berkely riots back in the day... My Dad.

Now the Police are being accused of being the problem.

I just don't get these people.

I am very concerned with how this is all being used to send the country down a very dark path. If you read the left's messaging, if you listen to what they say, as much as what they don't say, the left is very much looking to create some very dark days in the coming months.

Bold lying statements, lack of condemnation of events, positioning for political mayhem in Nov, outright misidentifying events to cover their goals; All of this is setting up events that makes me fear for this country.

Succinct. On point.

Radical leftists cannot be reasoned with. They must be defeated or a Republic cannot stand.
I don't advocate violence, but the radical leftists do not respect the will of the majority, elections, private property, the rule of law or even individual agency.

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

The hypocrisy and blatant disregard for our laws by the left is to me what is most disgusting. I pray that the silent majority have had quite enough and will stand up both at the ballot box, and anywhere else deemed necessary to finally squash this violent attack on our nation.

I watched the news just this morning about a police officer that saved the life of a toddler that fell into a pool.

It made me think...

Put on a scale the number of people who were saved by the police EVERY ONE OF THEM...on the other, the number of people killed by the small percentage of deaths made by poor decisions by marginal officers.

The disparity would be mind boggling!

Yet here we are painting BLM on basketball courts and trying to vilify and defund the thin blue line! Hurting cops is now OK...and tolerated by the left and the media.

Insanity...

I think most of us knew that the months leading to the election were going to be extremely rough, with the Dems pulling out all stops. The Floyd incident fell into their laps, and "they" hit the ground running. In the back of my mind, I always thought the rough months would be mostly lyin' Washington DC shit, but the commies have taken it to the streets, with the guidance and help from the media, Hollywood, and politicians. Make no mistake- it's all about Trump, and Trump only. When Mitt Romney and his ilk are joining the street commies, you know this is TDS in full action. And we have to be prepared to expect more desperate measures.
