A poor, starving citizen of North Korea takes it upon himself to protest in front of Kim Jong Il’s official residence. He yells over the fence, “We have no food! We have no electricity! We have no water! We have nothing!”

Naturally, he is seized by the local gestapo, who take him into one of Pyongyang’s many police dungeons and interrogate him. After they’re done, they decide to give him a good scare, so they tie him to a chair and point a gun at his head. He doesn’t know it’s full of blanks. The policeman pulls the trigger—BANG!—and says, “Let that be a lesson to you.” To which the dissident replies, “We have no food! No electricity! No bullets! Nothing!”

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Every night as he left work at the Socialist Workers Mine, he rolled a wheelbarrow full of dirt past the guards, and every night they searched through the dirt to find out what he was stealing. They found nothing.

On his last day before retirement, the guards took him aside and asked, "Comrade, we know that for years you have been wheeling dirt out after your shift. We searched the dirt every night and never found anything. Since you are retiring, please tell us. What have you been stealing?"

"Wheelbarrows, Comrades! I've been stealing wheelbarrows!"

From a Byelorussian friend. Best enjoyed when drunk.

Karl Marx dies and goes straight to hell. Three weeks later, during the weekly meetings between God and satan, the comment is made that things are much more organized in hell. God asks why.

"It's the new guy you sent me, Karl Marx. He's really got his act together and has done wonders in organizing my kingdom. A true asset, satan says."

God then tells satan that things are not as organized in Heaven and that He could use a guy like that. "Sure, you can have him, but only for a couple of weeks. After that I want him back".

The exchange is agreed. But after three weeks or so, Marx has not been returned to hell and satan decides to go to Heaven to demand his return. He reaches the gates of Heaven, knocks loudly and shouts, "God...God!

From inside, a voice that he recognizes as Peter's exclaims, "No...don't say God...it's Comrade!"
