I've always had a deep respect for our troops and what they and their families go through.

While surfing the net tonight, I came across this and it made me realize all the more, just how much they do sacrifice.

Seems I've got something in my eye now. Thank you to all of our service members past and present.

I think overall, we have come a long way since the Vietnam era in terms of honoring our warriors and their sacrifices. That said, it is too often too easy for people who haven't ever lived a military life, to see just how hard of a life it is on the families too.

This was a great reminder. Thanks for posting it.

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today, who no longer understand that fact.

Seriously choked me up...

I salute all those who are in the service of defending those who can't defend themselves.

Our military men and women live like no one wants to, so we can live like everyone wants to.

That was about the saddest AND happiest thing I've ever seen. God bless the troops and the families they leave behind.

That brings back a lot of memories. I was that kid once - just not in class. I watched my dad come off a plane and had to force my way to him. Pretty much the only time I can recall absolutely bursting with tears and not for a bad reason. I would not call them happy tears, rather an odd feeling of overwhelming emotion.

Must be something in the air, I can't stop the flow from my eyes either. God bless all of you who serve or have served, and God bless your families. You are all my heroes.
