Well, the main reason I think is that they're ILLEGAL. That's not going to fly as a basis for applying for citizenship. So, before DACA, they risk being deported. You can't be illegal and get US citizenship.

After being admitted to the DACA program, I *believe* they CAN'T apply for citizenship... DACA "is not a path to citizenship"... or something like that... I remember Obama saying.

He said:

"Now, let's be clear -- this is not amnesty, this is not immunity. This is not a path to citizenship. It's not a permanent fix. This is a temporary stopgap measure that lets us focus our resources wisely while giving a degree of relief and hope to talented, driven, patriotic young people."

Personally, I find this incredibly encouraging. The Dem's are completely off the rails, and any attempts by sane people to help them correct what's destroying the party is not only being ignored, but openly attacked. Given the clusterf*ck the Republican party is right now, its nice to see them Dem's moving farther into the wilderness.

Correct, but he did something even more important, that being, he put every congressman and senator directly in the cross-hairs of the public. Few if any GOP politicians in Washington want to vote on this topic at all. The business interests that support the GOP want the cheap labor illegals provide, while the GOP's main voting constituency wants illegal immigration to end. So what's a corrupt, cowardly, GOP policrap to do? Ya just gotta love it. Way to go President Trump. Smile

Yes. At least Alan Dershowitz, with whom I disagree on almost everything, is not insane.
Still, the Republican party needs leadership and the courage of its' convictions. Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell aren't cutting it. They say what we want to hear when they campaign but they are too weak to follow through.

except as usual, obama was lying

There was a backdoor

Under something called "advanced parole", illegal aliens protected by DACA were allowed to leave the U.S. and return, transforming their once illegal status into a now formally legal immigrant status. don't ask me to explain this

And they applied for citizenship

from an earlier post:

45,447 DACA recipients have been approved for advance parole

59,778 DACA recipients have applied for Lawful Permanent Resident, known as a ‘Green Card’

39,514 DACA recipients have been approved for a Green Card

Of the DACA recipients with Green Cards, 2,181 have applied for U.S. citizenship

Of the DACA recipients with Green Cards, 1,056 have become U.S. citizens

I used to think it was weakness, but no more. Their actions lead me to believe they are blatantly corrupt, crooked, grifters, fleecing the public while trying to accumulate as much power over the masses as possible. They are the enemy every bit as much as the Dem's are. Maybe more so...

The "backdoor" to citizenship mentioned above has been closed.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-g...ackdoor-citizenship/

The Department of Homeland Security has just closed a bureaucratic backdoor which allowed roughly 4o,000 young illegals to get Green Cards via former President Barack Obama’s DACA amnesty.

DHS will not approve any new Form I-131 applications for advance parole under standards associated with the DACA program, although it will generally honor the stated validity period for previously approved applications for advance parole … Further, USCIS will—of course—retain the authority to revoke or terminate an advance parole document at any time.

Will administratively close all pending Form I-131 applications for advance parole filed under standards associated with the DACA program, and will refund all associated fees.

The “Advanced Parole” backdoor to citizenship was created by Obama’s officials after he announced his June 2012 decision to stop enforcing immigration laws against the young illegals and to award instead them work permits and Social Security numbers.

The Advanced Parole process works like this: DACA illegals asked officials in Obama’s Department of Homeland Security if they could go home for an emergency and be allowed back into the United States under “Advanced Parole” status. The status was previously reserved for a few emergencies, such as a sick traveler on an international flight. The illegals applied for Advanced Parole by filing an I-131 application form.

Once approval was granted, the DACA illegal went home — usually to Mexico — and was then allowed to return to the United States via the legal process.

The legal return allowed them to use many other features in the immigration law to file for Green Cards status.

Once given a Green Card, the former illegal can gain citizenship and voting rights after several years. So far, 1,056 DACA illegals are gotten citizenship via the process.

Citizenship gives the former illegals full access to U.S. federal spending programs, and also the “ chain migration ” right to seek citizenship for the parents who brought the illegals into the United States as children.

More so. The Democrats are our enemies, and there's no mistaking it. The RINOs are our enemies, but they're posing as soldiers in our own army. They're spies, and we all know what the penalty is for being a spy.

Yes. Agreed. The Rhino establishment is already joining hands with the Democrats to keep the illegal immigrants here. Drain the fucking swamp...all of them.

It won't take Congress anywhere near 6 months to royally @#*k us over on this.

I'm sure they're already falling all over each other to get on TV and make statements about it and play to the immigrant crowd.

Meanwhile, how about they pass a Federal budget.

I don't see how Republicans get blamed for not passing bills. The House has, pretty much, but there is no way to get measures passed the Senate with no God Damned Commie votes.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

Trump schools Obama on U.S. Constitution

Everyone knows that former President Barack Obama, our Great American Constitutional Law Professor, got mercilessly schooled by the Supreme Court during his eight years in office. Now he is getting schooled by a brash-talking, orange-haired reality-TV star and real-estate developer from Queens.

I mean, this is humiliating. And so delicious to watch!

President Trump never took a single law class — at least not that we know of. Because if he had, Mr. Trump would surely find a way to remind us every time he wanted to strut his legal stuff. Anyway, Trump University didn’t even have a law school.

Yet, Mr. Trump effortlessly runs legal circles around the Great Law Lecturer Barack Obama when it comes to understanding the Constitution.

The same Constitution Mr. Obama spent years studying. The same Constitution that Mr. Trump hires people to study for him.

The same Constitution both men got elected to protect and uphold.

The same Constitution Mr. Obama spray-painted graffiti all over and the same Constitution that Mr. Trump is — finally — rescuing.

Whether it was Obamacare or the Defense of Marriage Act or illegal immigration, Mr. Obama made Swiss cheese of the most vital document in the modern civilized world. The document that spawned the greatest force for freedom on the planet. The document that — ultimately — freed slaves. The document that guarantees equality under law.

Mr. Obama shredded it whenever it suited his twisted needs and perverted political greed.

When he summarily rewrote the nation’s immigration laws — legalizing millions of illegals — it came after years of even he, himself, insisting that the president had no such authority under the Constitution.

That he later crumpled the Constitution — knowingly — in a cynical political gambit to woo Hispanic voters reveals just how constitutionally debauched Mr. Obama really was.

Mr. Obama’s blithe ignorance and selfish disregard of the Constitution was laid bare by a comprehensive study earlier this year that revealed that the Great Constitutional Law Lecturer had been rebuked by the Supreme Court more than any president in at least 70 years. And that was because the professors conducting the study only went back 70 years.

And now, after eight years of Mr. Obama wagging his big legal finger at “Stupid America,” we finally have a president who actually understands the Constitution and means to uphold it.

Donald Trump is not a politician, he is a leader, politicians are a dime a dozen, leaders are priceless.

Wonder if the D-Ill Gutierrez ever read the Constitution:
http://thehill.com/homenews/ho...-disgrace-to-uniform

Dem lawmaker: Kelly is a 'disgrace to uniform'

Democratic Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-Ill.) on Tuesday issued an unusually personal rebuke of White House chief of staff John Kelly, suggesting the retired Marine general has tainted his military service by working in the administration as President Trump ends a program shielding young immigrants from deportation.

"General Kelly is a hypocrite who is a disgrace to the uniform he used to wear. He has no honor and should be drummed out of the White House along with the white supremacists and those enabling the President’s actions by ‘just following orders,' " Gutiérrez said in a scathing statement, shortly after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) immigration policy will be phased out.

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus member claimed Kelly backed out of a commitment to protect DACA recipients, who were brought to the United States illegally as children, from deportation while serving as the Homeland Security secretary.

“General Kelly, when he was the head of Homeland Security, lied straight to the faces of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus about preventing the mass deportation of DREAMers. Now as Chief of Staff, this former general is executing the plan to take away their lifeline and taking steps to criminalize young people who live and work here legally," he said.

No Constitution, no laws, everybody do what they feel like doing. Is that where we are going?

If this is the new way, essentially chaos, those who were disadvantaged under the old way better find a deep hole to hide inside. The Constitution and the law were their only protection.

They can attach DACA reform to the budget, healthcare and the wall bill. Force them to vote.
I still say it would be a boon the Mexico to have the educated dreamers back. With their passion for protesting, they could be a real force for change in Mexico.
Then we could bill the for them for the educational expenses.

True.
The RINOs pretend to serve their constituents. In reality, they serve the donors. The Chamber of Commerce wants open borders/cheap labor. The problem with that is that you can't have open borders and a welfare state. Somebody's gotta pay.... that's those of us who are citizens with jobs.
