Yes, I think so.

One of the dreary realities is that someone who can do everything his way is, or soon becomes, a tyrant. Our system compels some compromises, fearing as it does tyranny just about above all else.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Democrats are not thinking of preventing tyranny, they are trying to nullify Trump and take over so they are the tyrants.

I do not believe it to be anything else and what they are doing is not noble to the Constitution.
It's about their thirst for power.

Sure.

The Dems don't get all they want either, not yet anyway.

But they were soooo close to gaining power for the next 50 years.
After what we have seen with 8 corrupt years of the Obama Admin and then another even more corrupt Hillary Admin, the courts would be theirs and everything else.

I think this explains Trump Derangement Syndrome because they were so close to being in power forever.

And just how much faith or trust would/could/should you put in someone who switches sides because the other one is winning?

That was my initial thought too...
He switches sides for political expediency.

But... Jim Justice is certainly not alone.
West Virginia has come a long way, baby.

The now-Republican governor said it best himself when speaking at the Trump rally: ““My mom and dad were staunch lovers of Ronald Reagan, staunch Republicans. My mom and dad, with no question in my mind, are in heaven right now, and they’re both saying the same thing, but my mom is saying it more profoundly: Jimmy, it’s about damn time you came to your senses.”

Sure, they just talked about grandkids. Sure, you bet. I always find it necessary to create a cover identity when I'm just shooting the breeze about nothing at all. You probably do the same.
