I haven't heard such strident and ineptly repetative misuse of the language since the 60s.

And just how many sequential sentences can you screech the word "Hitler" without the nice men in rubber truck coming to take you for a ride to the Home for the Mentally Incontinent?

Only if "turn on" means that Trump creates his own news network and I "turn on" my TV and "tune in" to it.

I wonder who he polled to come up with that conclusion.

This is Shermichael Singleton, the Republican senior advisor fired by Ben Carson. Last night Don Lemon kept trying to drag him into the dirt, but Shermichael wouldn't go there, much to the frustration of Lemon. Stand-up guy imo.

was somalia ever great enough to be in a position to be made great 'again'?

Genuine question. I was born in 89, so I don't know a whole heck of a lot about the development of African nations much prior to the late 90s.

What an idiot. Trump is doing what real conservatives have wanted all along - securing the borders and reducing job killing financial and environmental regulations. Will is NOT a conservative so I don't know who he is talking about.

Gotta have that cinnamon, y'all:

I bet he's done more for the economy by boosting parody MAGA apparel sales than Zero did his entire tenure.

I especially love that someone actually took the time to screen print a shirt that says "I love my Guatemalan Great Grandparents'. Gotta think you're looking at a narrow market with that one.

What set of beliefs and principles make one a conservative?

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Nah, not even close. Zippy the wonder Putz did far more for the economy through his continual attacks on gun makers. I loathe the man, but he was absolutely terrific for the gun industry.

True, though I was excluding that for some reason.

Bet Hildebeast generated a nice spike just prior to election day. I know I spent $400 on ammo the night before elections.

Did you read the article Leemur linked to?

Here's a quote:

quote:
“[I] think when they realize all that you embrace when you embrace protectionism, enormous executive discretion, government planning essentially what we can consume and how the economy will work and who shall be winners and who shall be losers, when they realize the slippery slope they’re on, away from bedrock conservative principles, I think things will change by mid-summer.”

Very little of what Trump talks about reflect true blue conservative principles, ideological purity. He would be talking about deep budget cuts, deep bureaucracy cuts, etc. He's restoring what might be called traditional American values, and may eventually get around to some of the more conservative ones. Like Ben Franklin's garden that gave him trouble pulling all the bad herbs at once that he had to pull a few at a time.

Will has been for years one of the most conservative writers out there.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

The best definition I've heard is "conservatives are generally satisfied with the way things are."

“ The work of destruction is quick, easy and exhilarating; the work of creation is slow, laborious and dull.
