I fully expect it to be a Requirement for continued employment where I work.

Today No. After it's tested and proven safe on others then I will because I won't have a choice.

I'm not in the first round but probably in the second, due to being over 65.
By then there will be several million here and abroad that will have had it and much more data to evaluate the risk/reward ratio.
Unless there are a large number of bad results I'll probably get it.
By spring and early summer there will be a lot of people that have already had it or the vaccine and the seasonal weather should help too and hopefully the new cases should be going down a lot.

It is a risk reward problem. Humans have trouble with these things. It is actually a rather simple math problem which depends upon your sex, age, and underlying conditions vs frequency of significant side effects due to the vaccine. If humans were logical we would never play in a casino or enter the lottery. BTW all sites will have epinepherine available and medical personnel.

Nope! I tested positive for Covid last week and am totally asymptomatic, never would have known were it not for the test!

I’ll wait and maybe never get it (I bet the Army will make me at some point anyway)

Probably not until this shakes out. I remember “I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.”

Ok, but here's my problem:
quote:

Two British people with severe allergies apparently had allergic reactions to Pfizer/BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine...

Allergic reactions were not a significant problem in the U.S. trial ..., but the U.S. trials kept out subjects who have had severe allergic reactions...

Hotez was confused by the allergic reaction, which was not predicted by trials in tens of thousands of people.

So essentially what Pfizer did was make an unwitting public part of Phase N of the trial.
quote:

As more people receive the vaccine, vaccine experts expect other reactions will crop up – both connected to the shot and by coincidence.

I love the "by coincidence" part. I wonder how many times the same or similar "coincidental" reactions have to occur before they being to think, much less admit, maybe they're not coincidental, after all?

Yes: I do not trust either modern medicine or the western health "care" system any further than I can spit. My feeling is it's more about profit care than health care.

Never. Evaluating the risks of the vaccine, of catching COVID, and of death/serious injury from COVID, there isn't enough justification for this vaccine for me.
To this point, here is an article with a substantial section devoted to immunity to C19:

https://www.justfacts.com/news...d-19_essential_facts
Great article with references to all info. Looks like there won't be a need for the vaccine if you already had covid19. I wasn't clear on the non mutating charactersitic of the virus.

Based on the numbers, 5% of the population is effectively vaccinated having already had it.

CDC's stats on C19 fatality rate:

0.003% for people aged 0–19 years.
0.02% for people aged 20–49 years.
0.5% for people aged 50–69 years.
5.4% for people aged 70+ years

I am leaning toward the Moderna, if given a choice.
The last information I heard was that the Pfizer-BioNTech requires ultra cold (–70°) storage and as a consequence the county I’m in won’t even order it because we don’t have that capability. In addition, the P-B version requires two inoculations, but the Moderna only one (I’ve been told).

Sanofi is working on a vaccine with Glaxo. My understanding is it will be room temp storage or maybe just refrigerated. Sanofi makes flu vaccine so they have lots of experience in vaccine production.

These go to eleven.

Nope, not for me but I do suggest we first try the vaccine on Congressional Democrats and if there's a problem....well, on second thought, maybe there won't be a problem.

Nope, but it will be interesting to watch as the long-term safety data come in. It has taken a couple of years to gather that data for other new vaccines in my experience.

Bells palsy and anaphylactic shock are just two side effects in a small test sample of human guinea pigs.

Not planning of getting one for at least a year or two or more until this all shakes out.

Not just no but HELL no. There’s a reason things aren’t normally rushed to production. I might roll the dice if this thing was actually truly dangerous, say 10% mortality rate or higher, but for less than the 1% I’m hearing these days? I think not.

Yep as soon as I’m eligible. Having worked in the medical research field earlier in my life I have faith in the methodology. Yes some people will have reactions as is always the case so I’m willing to deal with it to get my life back.

I read an article in The NY Times and it had an interactive section that you entered some preliminary information including what County you lived in and according to the article I was about 950th out of 1000 people to get the shot so it will probably be a few months before I can get it and bu that time several million people will have had it so we’ll know how it goes down.

Something else to consider that even with the regular flu only about 50-60% of the general population gets their inoculation annually if I remember correctly and it does a pretty good job of keeping the flu under control. I suspect this vaccine will have the same rate.
