The Third leading cause of Death in the USA is Hospital related errors.
https://www.npr.org/sections/h...kes-in-u-s-hospitals
This blows away ALL gun deaths combined.
You have a better change of dying from a Medical error (98,000) than getting killed by a gun.

In total, 33,636 people died of firearm injuries in 2013. A relatively small number (505) of those were due to accidental firings. Another 281 resulted from discharges of "undetermined intent," and 467 resulted from "legal intervention/war."
In 2013, the last year for which the CDC provides numbers, 21,175 people committed suicide by firearm, while 11,208 people died in gun homicides.

yep. That even gets too crazy for me. Same person asks me. we walk to a different spot and I'm asked again for my name, etc.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I hate numbers without context. So let me guess. The poor guy that got his ass shot in Kansas will be in that category this year. So will any prison escapees. And the gangbangers who shoot each other. Its the guns that do it. Not the murderous thugs. No guns, no gun homicides. Worse, the thugs who kill other thugs that are "under age", whatever that means,
will also be recorded.

Insurance. Every time I check in, I'm asked about my insurance.
Birthday, they seem to file by Birthday as I keep being asked what it is.
Patient admission. Did anyone check him for weapons? Did they inventory his property? His wallet.
What gets me, is that nobody involved in this fiasco seems to have known the real patient.
You pull a man off the street, stick him in a hospital against his will, involuntary medicate him and NOBODY CHECKS HIS NAME?

My point was Hospital Errors are the # 3 leading cause of death. Period.
You are correct, you can slice and dice numbers forever....

His name was correct, he just was the incorrect person with the same name.

And that right there is the reason for the protocol in place of ASKING FOR THE PATIENT'S BIRTHDATE!

What a damn cluster...!

This is priceless. the Police ponied up another $25 for WalMart. "Here ya go. You're broke, so this will probably shut you up." They couldn't even find a way to crack three digits. This man will be rich. Hopefully before he's too old to enjoy it. And he lost 40 pounds! Wonder what that drug is, maybe it's a new off-label wonder drug.

Mr. Wright said the hospital later apologized to him and gave him a $50 gift card for a restaurant. The crisis center also apologized and gave him a $25 Walmart gift card.
