Truths ... lessons learned that should be shared - Login/Join

This thread is meant to share truths that you have learned in your life. The idea is to share them with others so they might not have to learn these the hard way, the way you did.

They must be true.

This is not a place to argue some one else’s truth. It is true for them, leave it alone.

They can be funny, serious or both. Many I expect will have been from painful lessons. Respect that.

Share them as you see fit. Some youth today need these.

Ponder and reflect. There is some great wisdom in this group. You are all my brothers and sisters. Appreciate what they offer.

Quotes from great people of the past, that you found valuable, should be included here. Just give them credit.

So, I’ll start -

1. Bagels were simply invented as a vehicle for cream cheese.

2. Always, always, always, always, Always do what you are afraid to do - Attributed to Emerson. (Be careful with this one, might not share it with 5 year olds wanting to fly, etc.)

"The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb them. At Rotterdam, London, Warsaw and half a hundred other places, they put their rather naive theory into operation. They sowed the wind, and now they are going to reap the whirlwind."

You will always find an item you lost shortly after replacing it.

You will always find a better deal shortly after you closed on the prior deal.

Always (at least try) think before you let words flow from your pie hole.
