Well maybe explode is a bit harsh a term, LOL!
It is none the less a genuine concern.
Just be carefull.

There is some moisture in concrete almost always. Heating the surface past the boiling point can happen quickly and easily with a torch and that can cause the moisture to flash to steam and burst out chunks of the surface. I have seen it happen, more than once on the job site. A sharp pop and bits of concrete go flying. Safety glasses will protect your eyesight but you may still be left with a divot in your floor to patch.



If it ain't woke... don't fix it.
