Disgraced attorney Michael Avenatti was reportedly arrested Tuesday by federal authorities in Los Angeles, California on allegations that he violated bail.

The prosecutors said in a one-page letter to U.S. District Judge Paul G. Gardephe that they were told by prosecutors in Los Angeles that an arrest warrant had been issued and it was expected Avenatti would be arrested soon.

“We understand that has now occurred,” the New York prosecutors said in the letter.

“We are still gathering information and will provide an update to the Court as soon as we can,” the letter added. The letter was submitted by Manhattan U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman and signed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel C. Richenthal. Three other prosecutors were also listed.

“I understand that Mr. Avenatti has been arrested by the federal authorities for violating the terms of his release,” said lawyer Steven Bledsoe told the Daily Beast.

Upon being hauled out of the courthouse, the lawyer reportedly said he’s “completely innocent.”

The development comes as the former Resistance paragon was slated to appear in a Manhattan federal court as part of a case in which he is accused of attempting to extort Nike for up to $25 million. Avenatti pleaded not guilty in the case last year and has claimed the Department of Justice has unjustly targeted him due to his opposition to President Donald Trump.

In addition, Avenatti pleaded not guilty to charges that he ripped off his former client, pornographic actress Stormy Daniels, out of book deal proceeds. He is also accused of stealing millions of dollars from clients in California.

Maybe he was trying to make it to the Democratic debates. Wasn't he supposed to be the anti-Trump?

I wish they'd leave this guy alone. I mean he wanted to run for president. I mean he'd fit right in. Always room for one more in the clown car.

As someone who was in the same profession as this guy, it is very embarrassing that he's been allowed to do the things he has and still, apparently, has a law license.

You never hear or read about most lawyers because they, just like most teachers, most police officers, most accountants, get up in the morning, drive to work, do their jobs (not usually ambulance chasing) and go home to their families. It's the rare ones in all these occupations that make the news by scheming, cheating and stealing.

Most lawyers never see a court room and those that do are nothing like this guy. But once in a while some jerk comes along and it seems to take forever to get him disciplined and/or disbarred.

The phrase, "disgraced attorney" is redundant .

Trust me, he was NEVER a favorite of Democrats to win nomination for dog catcher in Buford, Wyoming let alone president. For this tool, it was all about publicity and money.

For the MEDIA, they loved him for 15 seconds just because it was another opportunity to "get Trump." The media alone went along with his "candidacy" and promoted him.

Evil exists. You can not negotiate with, bribe or placate evil. You're not going to be able to have it sit down with Dr. Phil for an anger management session either.
