Can't kill our Lexus LS!
My wife would kill me if I ever wanted to get rid of it.
Flawless at 165000 miles.

A bit, yes. Test drive a new one and see if you like it.

Be sure when you’re talking about Lexus that you don confuse different vehicles with similarities in the name. There is a huge difference between “GS 350 F Sport” and “GS-F”

The F Sport is a trim level above the base GS 350, with upgraded brakes, wheels, front bumper/grille, aluminum pedals, unique instrument panel, leather, and suspension.

The GS-F is a V-8 engined beast originally designe/built as a direct answer to the BMW M3.

There’s a $20K-$30K price difference between the two!

I’ve never been awfully impressed with Lexus’ L Certified program, although Lexus seems to be impressed with themselves. Compare coverages on their extended warranty versus buying an independent extended warranty on a low-mileage well-kept non-certified. You might come out of it with a lower overall expenditure with better coverage.

Have you looked at new audis in your price range?
How sporty do you want the car to be?
Is snow an issue?

I have looked at some, and LOVE the black A6's, the car will be a second car, not my primary and snow is not an issue, mostly I will use it for long trips.

thanks, shawn

That’s the correct decision if you are going to keep it long. At my last job, the gambit of nicer cars ran from Audi and Mercedes to Lexus and Infinity. From what I saw, I would do the Lexus or the Infinity. They don’t have the cachet of the German cars but they are much more reliable and IMHO every bit as nice.

Second car should be a convertible. Just sayin’ Wink

The Lexus IS convertible are nice but underpowered unless you get the 350. The Infiniti Q60 is nice in both coupe and convertible.

You are buying from a reputable dealer. I've bought Lexus parts from Sewell for years and have always been well satisfied.

From a mechanic who has worked on both I'd buy the Lexus over the Audi every time.
I'd take an Acura over both also.
