I’m gonna borrow from the Bill Burr thread and try not to “sound gay”, but I want you guys to know how much you help me out.

Been outside the lower 48 for more than 6 years now and it gets tough. 12 months in a foreign country on lockdown without the option of traveling, I can’t even go a city over!

Missing home and missing everything, which the “what was your MOS,NEC” thread has taught me is not an experience reserved to me alone. Many, MANY of you have been here before, many under far worse circumstances. It’s nice to realize your in like company, and good company.

This forum is a wealth of knowledge, just listening to Q, Rogue, Offgrid, etc. talk about their particular areas of expertise proves that point. But more than that you guys make people feel at home.

Thank you very much! Wish I could buy you all a beer!

Hope that wasn’t too sentimental...if it was go fuck yourselves or something.

ETA: I know the mods and Para don’t do this for recognition or reward, and while I’ve tried in the past I’m probably far behind in repaying my debt, but thank you to the you guys as well. I know it don’t mean much from one dude, but thank you.

11 years to retirement! Just waiting!

OttoSig. Never fear. Whenever you need it, I got your six.

But I'm a Navy guy.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Step #1 -- Go get you a Soju
Step #2 -- Drink it
Step #3 -- Know that I found a place local that sells it and we just had a drink together. Thanks for that.

Oh and it takes a college education to break the equipment, but a high school education to fix the equipment.
