“You never can tell whether bad luck may not after all turn out to be good luck. One must never forget when misfortunes come that it is quite possible they are saving one from something much worse; or that when you make some great mistake, it may very easily serve you better than the best-advised decision. Life is a whole, and luck is a whole, and no part of them can be separated from the rest.” Winston Churchill

I have realized on a number of occasions that, for some reason I could not fathom, I wasn’t able to get what I wanted, only to later realize that what I ended up with was far better than what I hoped for.

This sounds like another of those occasions. Aren’t you glad?

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Outstanding news, again, things seem to always work out better in the long run.

Dude, that’s awesome!

Its going to be even better next year when the other comppany calls you about the job when the CEO's buddy isn’t working out and you get to tell them how you really feel.

Great news! I believe the great philosopher Hannibal Smith said, "I love it when a plan comes together!"

Aeronautics confers beauty and grandeur, combining art and science for those who devote themselves to it. . . . The aeronaut, free in space, sailing in the infinite, loses himself in the immense undulations of nature. He climbs, he rises, he soars, he reigns, he hurtles the proud vault of the azure sky. — Georges Besançon

Outstanding! Congratulations.

"We may consent to be governed, but we will not be ruled." - Kevin D. Williamson, 2012

"All the citizens of this land are of right freemen; they owe no allegiance to any class and should recognize no task-masters. Under the chart of their liberties, under the law of high heaven, they are free and without shackles on their limbs nor mortgages upon the fruits of their brain or muscles; they bow down before no prince, potentate, or sovereign, nor kiss the royal robes of any crowned head; they render homage only to their God and should pay tribute only to their Government. Such at least is the spirit of our institutions, the character of our written national compact."

I'll add to this that I survived a house cleaning at my job today. My boss has hated me with a burning passion for a while, was schitting on my work, trying to make me look bad and, well, today was a huge deadline and I was fully expecting to be fired. He was fired and I'll be getting his job. Still having trouble wrapping my head around this day.
