You should be getting that from the finance co.

Good for you on getting that extra income for a while. It's a great feeling to get anything paid off, isn't it.

Brakes are first - struts are second. Nothing beats being able to stop a car - you made go.... Wink

I gotta say this:

You took a seven year loan on a Hyundai Accent???? I thought the reason people bought hyundai's were so that they didn't have to take seven year loans.

Everybody's financial situation is different. Some people buy high end cars and S-T-R-E-T-C-H the payment so they can actually afford that Porsche. Yet other people have to finance the way they can afford to actuall purchase a car. I have been in the latter position a few times. I have also seen the former while working on some of those 10 year loan Porsches. Where the owner cannot afford the Full synthetic oil change much less tires or any regular maintenance.

I bought my 02' Saturn back in April on a two-year loan. I'm nearly at the 1/2 mark now. I always pay at least 50% over & dropped a $1k payment on them last month. The finance company HATES MY GUTS right now. Big Grin

The best course of action would be to keep paying the $234 into a separate bank account for as long as humanely possible. It feels even better than having the title. Thats because you know its yours, and you know that money has suddenly started to build up in your favor.

You think paying off a car loan feels good, paying off the mortgage feels so much better it can't be described. Several years ago I did that and was taken to task for my poor money management. I was told that the best thing would be to make my payments on time, and invest the rest in the market (the one that is tanking as we speak.) Sorry, cars and homes are best paid off, not rented.
