Yes, I wouldn't advise screaming, but certainly to stand your ground and insist on all the process you are due.

I support the police, but the reverend, priest, rabbi or who ever he was was the BOSS!
Kudos to the police for remaining calm...I would call it a win-win all the way around.

Good for him

They ought to have been ashamed of themselves.

But I’m sure they’re not.

Canada has been a socialist country for more than the 50 years I can recall. It’s why I left Canada in 1991 and moved here. When I started trying to move here in 1977 I could already see that Canada was not going to be my home. Unfortunately I have seen the US swing very hard to the left and this isn’t the same country I moved to.

Para mentioned the need for non-compliance recently in the coronavirus thread. I've been hoping to see more examples like that Pastor. That felt good to watch that video.

I live in the heart of a demented liberal utopia and I have noticed with the nicer weather coming in that I am seeing more brave souls besides myself daring to be alone in public mask-less. I'll continue doing what I do pushing the limits, short of losing my job or being arrested and encouraging others to do the same.

Was the woman in the tight ass jeans and eff-me boots an actual police officer? I couldn't really see her insignia but got the impression she was more like some sort of health inspector type going along with the cops.

I was confused a little too as it said he was conducting a Passover service. That's not something Catholics or Protestants normally do is it? We have Good Friday services/Mass and Easter Sunday services/Mass but Passover to me means Jewish but they refer to him as a "Pastor".

The mainline Protestant denominations generally celebrate easter, not the Passover. But there are countless non-mainline Protestant churches, some of which do celebrate the Passover and many of the Jewish holidays.

I was raised Catholic, and we always had a passover service and Seder supper. I always enjoyed it, some of the local Rabbis would come lead it and I always found it to be fascinating.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

I'm grateful for the Polish pastor that stood up to tyranny and I'm grateful there are still men like Pastor Coates that are willing to be imprisoned for resisting tyranny.

I'm left wondering how far people are willing to be pushed like this before peaceful resistance becomes active resistance.

This is probably why governments don't let schools teach history any more. SOOOOO many parallels between this and the early Nazi policies. . .

Several of the UMC churches I've attended over the years held services that mimic the Passover--even a Seder meal (with grape juice, not wine). Jesus Christ was a Jew, and Holy Thursday is the occasion in the Christian calendar that commemorates the Seder.

I'm actually surprised this pastor hasn't been arrested like Pastor James Coates was or the church fenced off like Grace Life Church.

Well, the female health dept. or whatever worker was very reasonable, just wanted to explain to him what was going on, the cops, all 9 of them by a quick count, seemed to be very reasonable, just wanted to make sure the female was safe from the crazies in the church service. All of it seemed to be very reasonable, they showed up during the service probably because they knew that's when people would be there and could hear them out. Everybody was reasonable but the pastor who just doesn't seem to want to get in the boxcar.

This is why I believe they will not stop until they find SOME reason to put him away. They will crawl up his tax records with a microscope, dig into his personal life to uncover SOME kind of impropriety. . .

I respect the heck out of this guy for standing up to this tyranny. Tyrants, typically, cannot tolerate this.

The officers were obviously just there to keep the peace while she did her thing, the woman is the one trying to enforce something. I just don't understand why there were so many officers, there must be a back story.
