Remember the “One drop rule” of Jim Crow? Will there be a requirement to prove one’s racial makeup? Will records and proof be required? No matter how reparations would be structured, cries of racism and fraud will be rampent.

Since there is no one alive that suffered under slavery in the U.S., I think that in order to qualify for reparations you must first live as a slave for five years. Once that requirement is completed then we can talk about reparations. And NO Abraham Lincoln did not free the slaves. Study a little history, please.

I don't want to sound like a racist, but lets face the facts.
The Democrats are totally against voter ID because it supposedly is a burden on minorities to obtain a valid ID, yet somehow these same minorities can magically come up with proof that their ancestors one or two hundred years ago were slaves, so they can get in on some free shit; when many of them have no idea who baby daddy is. Or are we just going to pay reparations to anyone who looks like they're not white.

If Trump gets 15% of the black vote, that would be historic and almost certainly cement a victory for the incumbent president.

So the Democrats have a three-prong strategy. First, try like hell to establish Trump as a racist or white nationalist in the minds of the black community. Second, promise reparations as another bribe to blacks. Third, import new residents from across the southern border as fast as possible and give them a path to citizenship in order to replace black voters that they may lose to the GOP.

Blacks are waking up and seeing that #1 isn't really true. They know Trump's history of great relations with the black community and they see they real economic gains he is delivering for them. As for #3, I believe it is starting to backfire on the Democrats because black can see the writing on the wall that the Democrats don't give a damn about them and are soon going to be a Latino-focused party. Also, it's a longer-term strategy that won't help them in time for 2020.

So it's all about #2 - Reparations. Will it work to keep enough blacks locked into the Democratic side? Time will tell - but I don't think so.

Dare I mention the literal armies of Chinese labourers who built the railroads of America in the expansion to the West?

The same of course, could be applied to the railways of Canada...
