Facial hair can include mustaches and mutton chops. The key term here is beard.

I believe Taft was the last to have facial hair. But Benjamin Harrison was the last to have a full beard I believe.

What did I win? What? Huh, huh!?!? Is it good? Big Grin

Correct. It was the Civil War that cause American men to go hairy. Until then beards were socially unacceptable. Muttonchops on John Quincy Adams and Van Buren not that's it until Lincoln.

Joseph Palmer (1791-1873) was one of the very few men that wore a beard. He was subjected to harassment and name calling. In 1830 he was attacked by four men that tried to cut his beard off. He defended himself and then was arrested and convicted for "unprovoked assault." This lead to a 15 month stint in jail.

The correct answer is Barack Obama. Photographic evidence of each President with a beard:

James Garfield 1881-1881

Benjamin Harrison 1889-1893

Barack Obama 2009-2017

Harrison being the last president with a beard roughly coincides with the invention of the safety razor.
