I dislike him as a person and his political shenanigans...

...but he was pretty good in “The professor and the madman.”

Good flick...

I thought he was better than good in that movie.

I don't know or even care much for how good of an actor Richard Dreyfuss is, but I don't find him convincing or compelling. I don't like and avoid any movie he's in.

I liked Dreyfuss in Stakeout. Hayden Christiansen as others have already nominated gets my vote too. That guy is as wooden as cigar store Indian.

For me it's Peter Fonda.... the only thing worse than a Peter Fonda movie is one with him and Brooke Shields in it together.

I like this thread. Let's make this a nomination thread, then post as a poll to have everyone vote.

I had immediately though of Caruso.
His role in the CSI Miami series is noteworthy for its awfulness.

My vote goes to Nicholas Cage - terrible in all roles.

Thank you mrcrimm. I was amazed it was nearing two pages and nobody had said Nicholas “my hand” Cage. Its a line from that pizza movie with Cher. Capital A, atrocious. How this guy could win an Oscar is the definition of why I could care less about Oscar’s.

Often terrible, because he's been in a lot of movies with terrible scripts.

But he is capable of a good performance. "Raising Arizona" and "Wild at Heart" come to mind.

My nominee is Jennifer Anniston. She is a thoroughly mediocre actress, even while being so attractive and appealing that it is hard not to like her.

I concur, although she was quite hot in "Meet the Millers" and I would be happy to take her to dinner, I just don't think she can act.

Ah yes, John Revolting. Mrs. Flash and I refuse to watch any movie with him in it.

A lot of other people obviously don't share our opinion, though, as he's made a metric ton of money.

A bad script, writing doesn't make the Actor > BAD.
IMO, a bad actor or actress is when they are not believable in the part.
Almost all of the ones mentioned in this thread have done movies I enjoyed to one degree or another and never thought that any of them were "bad".
There are plenty of things they were in that I would never watch their movie or show but that is not because they were in it but just that I didn't like the content.
YMMV

Not a great actor, but a friendly guy.

Wife and I were at the FBO on the north ramp at the Orlando-Sanford airport, getting ready to depart to visit the kids in Ohio.

Travolta exited his airplane, headed for the FBO office, then veered in our direction, came over, looked at the V-tail, big smile, and said, "Nice Bonanza. Have a good flight," and continued on in to the office.

Several on my list but Jim Carey is at the top. Honorable mentions go to Will Ferrel and Jack Black.
