Growing up, my buddy and I wore his Rejoice Dear Hearts album out! Funniest thing we had ever heard of...I think about "turrning Miss Babies head around" and laugh.

Some Brother Dave gems:

"Brother Dave Gardner Quotes
The South may not always be right, but by God it's never wrong! ...

Let them that don't want none have memories of not gettin' any. ...

Love your enemies and drive them nuts. ...

Rock music sounds like an octopus making love to a bagpipe. ...

I love everything about the South; I even love hate.

Who remembers him?

I do.
"How can you tell a happy motorcycle rider? By the bugs in his teeth."
To the cocktail waitress: "Hey; you want my number?"
Reply: "Honey, I got your number when you walked through the door"

He appeared on Johnny Carson. I do remember watching it. Johnny was embarrassed, but set up the jokes anyway. I could quote the racist joke, but won't. I have a memory (maybe) of driving to Biloxi to see him at a nightclub. He was a no-show.

Guess I was dating myself talking about him. I don't know of any of his shows or later venuess like you do.

But I sure remember the hours listening to Rejoice Dear Hearts with a friend as a 11 year old chap.

Mom still has several of LPs at her house.

Kind of “Jerry Clower” ish.
Funny stuff. I really like the old story telling comedians.
