I had to drive home from Calhoun GA today.
Every idiot on the road blocked every road I take home. Mad

SIX hours to get home. The ONLY open road was through Big Canoe. And the jackasses on 4 wheelers turned those roads to ice.

See Northerners have no idea what snow is like in the South.

Every car I saw wrecked was a 2 wheel drive.
All they do is spin and slide.

My CR-V growled and slipped everywhere.

That's because they are used to having snow plows clearing the roads and life continuing as normal. They don't realize that below Tennessee that equipment does not exist.

No, I'm a hillbilly, but a few years up here with the eskimos makes snow back home an absolute joke.

We do have more equipment here, but that often only means plowed roads on the way home.

Actually, many roads are better in 6" of snow than they are after plowing and traffic ice packing it.

Oh, and idiots drivers are everywhere. You still just go about your business when it snows and try to dodge them.

Chains may not be legal here, or so I have heard. Never seen anyone use them. Really not sure.

I can't believe how people JAM their brakes to stop. Then slide out of control.
I had to dodge more than one idiot flying down a hill.

The plows clear most of the snow from the roads, but there are still panicky, idiot drivers. People slam on the brakes and slide, go 20mph on the interstate in the left lane, and tailgate the plows.

The city of Atlanta spent a million bucks on snow plows and sand trucks after the debacle in 2011, but no one told them how they were supposed to be used. You are supposed to sand the ramps and bridges BEFORE the city shuts down in traffic hell.

I could never understand why people need to be told this. Seriously, isn't it just common sense? It doesn't seem counter-intuitive at all to me to turn towards the direction you want to go. I mean, duh, right?

2 wheel drive probably has very little to do with it.

The issue in snow/ice generally isn't the "going", it's the "stopping" or driving too fast, losing traction, and making the ass end switch places with the front end. 4 wheel drive doesn't stop any better.

Drivers who don't drive with some simple sense or don't just stay off the road to being with is the problem.

People hee haw about how "ohhhs in the soute they don't have salt" and all that garbage...horsehockey. In Canada they drive freaking 18 wheelers on freaking iced over lakes all winter. Salt/sand/scrapers don't have anything to do with people driving like idiots.
