I am sure Cortez means well, but so what? If her ideas were adopted, it would be a disaster.

She is typical of many extremists - she can't understand why the rainbow and unicorn world she longs for can't be. I always think of this Steely Dan lyric:

I heard it was you
Talkin' 'bout a world
Where all is free
It just couldn't be
And only a fool would say that

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

the problem is that has developed a cult-like following and we conservatives keep falling for the same shit over and over again

we underestimate the effects of social media and low information voters and are dumbstruck when they get elected against all logic

she is the the face of the monster we have with the socialists - much more appealing that Sanders

that makes her very dangerous to the country

She's not as dangerous as Beto O'Rourke.

I agree. His near-overthrow of Sen. Cruz here in Texas was very unsettling to me. My adopted state used to be solid red, with blue enclaves in Austin and Houston; now that virus is spreading into all the major cities (maybe not Fort Worth) and I don't like it. Beto could be very dangerous, because he's very smooth, looks good, and isn't very threatening. He does have chinks that can be exploited, though, and I hope they get used.

Would this have anything to do with the libtards leaving CA for red states?

Absolutely! They vote in politicians that kill the state, then move into better (redder) areas and begin to destroy those, too. They're like parasites that kill the host.

Are we maybe going a little too far off the deep end about Ms. Cortez? She's a no seniority back bencher in a party that controls at best 1/3 of the Federal Government. Her influence is much more limited than her volume of news coverage would tend to suggest.

The dangerous thing about shills like AOC and Beto is that they disappear and are unaccountable when the system the advocate for collapses. Who were Hugo Chavez's advocates? They were celebrities and power brokers. Look them up. Where are they now that Venezuela is in ashes? See what I mean? That is where AOC and Beto et al. will be when our wives, mothers, daughters etc. have to sell themselves like is happening in Venezuela. No consequences for the guilty. That is a running theme for Leftists and Democrats.

If I step back and look at the results of the last two elections, it is pretty clear to me that people are tired of career politicians. Beto almost beat Ted Cruz here in Texas and young people are looking for younger candidates. She may be vapid, she is influential, maybe not with people like me (older, white, conservative).

She ain’t no Barack and never will be. For so his faults, a lack of intelligence wasn’t one of them.

I do agree she shouldn’t be underestimated. On her own she a harmless dolt, but as a member of Congress pushing a socialist agenda with a full court propaganda press from the media backed by members with power?

Beto nearly took Texas and that scares the hell out of me. First for Texas moving so far to the left and second, Beto's national appeal. We've not hear the last of him.

It wasn't THAT close but it never should have been as close as it was, for sure.

Actually, I was quoting Chellim1--I didn't originate that statement attributed to me above (but I do agree with it).

I don't take too much stock into the O'Rourke vs Cruz race.

Besides passing himself as Mexican at the beginnings of his campaign, there were irregularities in early electronic voting, switching some Republican ticket votes to O'Rourke. Also there were arrests made in Travis County, 9 poll workers with Mexican surnames, for voter fraud.

I absolutely believe O'Rourke received the amount of votes due to some help from the Democrat Party and its usual shenanigans. This particular race was the most important one in the country during the midterms, and to think voter fraud was not going to rear its ugly head is simply naive.
