Beto nearly took Texas and that scares the hell out of me. First for Texas moving so far to the left and second, Beto's national appeal. We've not hear the last of him.

It wasn't THAT close but it never should have been as close as it was, for sure.

I don't take too much stock into the O'Rourke vs Cruz race.

Besides passing himself as Mexican at the beginnings of his campaign, there were irregularities in early electronic voting, switching some Republican ticket votes to O'Rourke. Also there were arrests made in Travis County, 9 poll workers with Mexican surnames, for voter fraud.

I absolutely believe O'Rourke received the amount of votes due to some help from the Democrat Party and its usual shenanigans. This particular race was the most important one in the country during the midterms, and to think voter fraud was not going to rear its ugly head is simply naive.

I look forward to this little twit getting her comeuppance.

29-year-old Ocasio-Cortez mocks aging Joe Lieberman, 76, for hoping 'she's not the future'

Freshman lawmaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dropped a hammer on Joe Lieberman on Thursday, after the onetime Democratic vice presidential candidate said he feared her brand of high-tax socialism could doom the party's chances for long-term dominance in Congress.

'I certainly hope she’s not the future and I don’t believe she is,' Lieberman said in a Fox Business Network interview. He retired in 2013 after serving 24 years in the U.S. Senate.

The 29-year-old Ocasio-Cortez retweeted the 76-year-old's sentiment with a four-word rejoinder: 'New party, who dis?'

'Who dis?' is a common response to a text message from an unknown number. Among millennials in the smartphone generation, the phrase has morphed into a snarky tool for rejecting someone by framing their approach as a mistake.

Good, good.

She is starting to believe her own hype and is getting a big ego. Sooner that happens, sooner she nips at the wrong long-timer in her party and they all turn on her.

Old school Dems are a pain in the ass, but they know how to fuck someone that does them wrong. Up to and including suicide by multiple gun shots to the back of the melon.

The best part about this stupid bitch is that she really thinks the old guard Democrats are her biggest enemy. I cannot wait for her to get slammed hard, but not before doing irreparable harm to the party.

Cortez has new friends

https://www.breitbart.com/poli...civil-rights-agenda/

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton visited Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) this week, with Sharpton saying that he and Ocasio-Cortez discussed how to “fight back against the disastrous anti-civil rights agenda enacted by the Trump administration.”

Sharpton went to Ocasio-Cortez’s office on Thursday and effusively tweeted about his visit, even sharing a video of the two of them dancing.

“Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez @AOC and I discussed priorities for the coming session and the newly elected members’ plans to fight back against the disastrous anti-civil rights agenda enacted by the Trump administration in the last two years,” Sharpton tweeted, adding that the two of them “lightened it up a bit and talked about James Brown” after discussing more “serious issues.”

Jackson met with Ocasio-Cortez on Wednesday, and the freshman New York Democrat said “it was an honor of a lifetime” to meet with Jackson and discuss how they could “advance the movement for economic and racial justice in the United States.”

I want to learn more about this. In precise and factual terms, not fake news BS safe-space drivel.

What exactly and particularly is the Trump admins "anti-civil rights" agenda? What legislation? What EOs? What policies?

What anti-civil rights agenda? You know what? It doesn't matter - all Al & Jesse have to do is accuse Trump of it, and in the minds of the idiots who follow Al & Jesse, it's gospel. Roll Eyes

"Freshmen Reps. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York spoiled House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's big week by simply telling the truth about their party's plans for President Donald Trump and taxes. Democratic leaders, desperate to hide what's inside, grimaced, but the truth of what drives Democrats emerged nonetheless. "

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the voice of an ignorant generation

The majority of American Millennials identify as socialist, according to surveys by both Reason-Rupe and the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation. That’s the bad news. The good news is that just 32 percent of Millennials can define socialism. The frequently-wrong but never-in-doubt freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., may indeed be the voice of her ignorant generation.

During an interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” Anderson Cooper asked Ocasio-Cortez, “When people hear the word socialism, they think Soviet Union, Cuba, Venezuela. Is that what you have in mind?” He neglected to mention the vicious socialist regimes of Cambodia, Ethiopia, Poland, Romania, North Korea, and China, among others.

Ocasio-Cortez retorted, “Of course not. What we have in mind—and what of my—and my policies most closely resemble what we see in the U.K., in Norway, in Finland, in Sweden.” In fact, her economic proposals bear little resemblance to British and Nordic public policy.

As early as the 1950s, Britain began to privatize its social security and pension programs. By the 1990s, as decades of socialism caused economic growth to stagnate, Sweden followed suit. Neither Sweden nor Norway mandates a minimum wage, and Britain demands a minimum wage well below Ocasio-Cortez’s proposed $15 per hour. Britain and Finland offer a lower corporate tax rate than the United States, and all the nations she names have lower rates than her proposal of 28 percent. None has a health care regime as socialistic as her proposed Medicare-For-All scheme, which constitutes a full federal takeover of health care.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s ignorance of economics and foreign affairs typifies her generation. Despite holding expensive degrees in both Economics and International Relations from Boston University, Ocasio-Cortez threw up her hands in exasperation during an interview on Margaret Hoover’s “Firing Line” program, laughing, “I’m not the expert on geopolitics.” Fortunately for her, in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king; and among a blithely ignorant generation, the lightly educated activist is congresswoman.

The seed of Millennial miseducation, which grew into the Tree of the Lack of Knowledge as activist educators substituted ideology for scholarship, is finally bearing its rotten fruit. According to one survey, one third of Millennials believe President George W. Bush killed more people than Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin. Over 40 percent of Millennials have never heard of Mao Zedong; another 40 percent and 30 percent, respectively, are unfamiliar with Vladimir Lenin and Che Guevara. Two-thirds of Millennials cannot identify Auschwitz, and 22 percent have never heard of the Holocaust, twice the percentage of American adults on average.

Millennials might not know much, but according to a 2016 Harvard survey, they know they don’t support capitalism, with 51 percent of young adults rejecting economic freedom.

During the 2018 midterm elections, the Democratic Socialists of America endorsed 42 candidates for local, state, and federal office across 20 states. Of those candidates, 24 won their primary campaigns, and 18 won in general elections. Millennials have largely cheered them on. Raised in the United States after the fall of the Berlin Wall, these young Americans have been sheltered both empirically and academically from the myriad horrors wrought by socialism throughout history. And so the problem worsens.

Socialism is an economic disease born of envy and ignorance. Unfortunately both abound in our present politics. The sickness has found an attractive spokeswoman—perhaps, sadly, the voice of her generation.

Amazing how AOC has suddenly become a power player in Congress. Many articles I have read the past couple of weeks seem to mention her. She is on national news shows and uses social media to argue her points and nurture her following. I think we have created a monster that will grow and grow.

Indeed....

She is the direct result of the seeds the socialists have been planting and cultivating for the last 100 years or so, beginning with the advent of 'public' education.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

It’s disturbing, but I believe there may be a silver lining to the clouds. Absolutely Occluded Cortex is at least helping to expose the true leftist/socialist agendas. One of the things that is noted in many histories of the National Socialists (Nazis) in Germany was the widespread belief that Hitler and his followers weren’t serious: “Oh, he can’t really mean all that. Once they come to power they’ll have to moderate their positions on many things.” That attitude is very common, and I’ve been prey to it myself, most recently in 2016. (Knowing what I know now wouldn’t have changed my vote, but I wouldn’t have thought, “Oh, he can’t be serious about that.”)

It’s important, therefore, that people recognize when they are serious, and exactly what their grand theories would mean in practice. For many people of course the specifics would be just what they think they want and therefore exposing the sausage ingredients would have no effect on their willingness to gobble them down. For others who have been accustomed to thinking about only the theories and not what they would actually involve, however, having someone like OC spell them out can’t hurt, IMO.

And for once I’m happy the BS media is so clueless about what they’re helping to impose on the nation. Without them and their ceaseless coverage of Occluded Cortex she would be nothing more than obscure footnote on the political scene.

Will all that be enough to turn back the tide? I don’t know. I’m not optimistic based on what has happened around the world for the last century, but it might. It might convince enough of the rest of us to stop thinking, “Oh, they can’t really mean all that,” and to start fighting back, and it’s much easier to refute specifics than it is to refute vague visions of utopias.
