I wouldn’t say she hasn’t accomplished anything. She won a popularity contest in a place with a VERY high concentration of stupid people. That’s something....right?

Remember: Half of all people are of below average intelligence.

Well …, maybe.
But if I were a leftist of power and influence this is what I’d be thinking:

You people on the Right have allowed us to take over and absolutely dominate virtually all the education, information, and propaganda organs of the nation, not to mention exerting vast influence over countless courts and government agencies from the National Park Service to the FBI and the armed forces. We have realized Orwell’s idea of Newspeak to the point that even those, such as you, who ridicule its illogic and bemoan its effects on our thoughts, words, and deeds nevertheless have adopted it themselves out of fear of not only us on the Left, but also of those who claim to hate it—you yourselves. We have been far more successful in motivating our mindless minions to vote for things they don’t begin to understand, much less know how will affect their lives than you have been able to convince your people to vote about the things that will have profound and immediate effects on theirs.

And yet we are the stupid ones‽ We laugh at your naivety and encourage you to continue to underestimate us. To paraphrase one of our role models, in time we will Barry you.

17k votes in New York city which as I remember reflects about 20% of that district? Nah, Crowley took everything for granted and made virtually no effort at keeping the seat, and virtually gave it away. Had he done due diligence and put in some time, he'd have been back in Washington again (hosing all of us).

Sigfreund-
There is so much truth in your post that it scares the hell out of me. Despite taking the moral high ground, conservatives/GOP/the right, is slowly but surely losing ground to these collectivists. And they play their subjects like the useful idiots that they are. What kind of event will finally wake up the right? Another terror attack? Internal armed insurrection?

The Indoctrination of the young leftists is creating a formidable opponent. And I don’t see the rightists doing anything except claim they are doing the correct thing. This ordeal with Trumps last 2 years and the circus with Kavanaugh demonstrates that the GOP has a decade left- maybe. This is just my humble opinion, so flame away.

I don’t know, with her saying she wants 70% taxes, and Castro wanting 90%, to idiot college students it sounds good. But when they get a job, to raise a family, buy a house, that rate might not seem sane. While they are living on their parents dime, it’s no skin off their back, but when they actually have to work, ideals go out the window.

From the article....nuff said Roll Eyes - "“For example, it looks like @PolitiFact has fact-checked Sarah Huckabee Sanders and myself the *same* amount of times: 6,” she said. “She’s been serving for 2 years. I’ve served 4 days. Why is she fact-checked so little? Is she adhering to some standard we don’t know about?”

Ocasio-Cortez attacks fact-checkers for 'false equivalency,' 'bias'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez lashed out at fact-checkers just days after taking office, accusing them of “false equivalency” and “bias” toward her in their columns examining her statements.

Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has been called out by fact-checkers at a steady clip since her upset primary win last year over then-Rep. Joe Crowley. She's apparently had enough. On Monday, she took aim at PolitiFact and The Washington Post fact-check unit for supposedly singling her out.

“Facts are facts, America. We should care about getting things right. Yet standards of who gets fact-checked, how often + why are unclear,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted Monday. “This is where false equivalency + bias creeps in, allowing climate deniers to be put on par w/ scientists, for example.”

Her argument was not so much that the columns were wrong but that they should be scrutinizing the Trump White House more. Ocasio-Cortez complained that PolitiFact fact-checked her the “same” amount of times as White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.

“For example, it looks like @PolitiFact has fact-checked Sarah Huckabee Sanders and myself the *same* amount of times: 6,” she said. “She’s been serving for 2 years. I’ve served 4 days. Why is she fact-checked so little? Is she adhering to some standard we don’t know about?”

She added: “Another question for @politifact: some officials’ statements (ex. Andrew Cuomo) get rated ‘true’ frequently. I say true things all the time – I’d hope most do. When does Politifact choose to rate true statements? Is there a guide? I’d be happy to repost if there is.”

A reporter for the Washington Post, which regularly publishes a fact-check column assigning “Pinocchios” based on the level of falsehood in statements made, hit back, noting there is a way to “avoid” being fact-checked -- and stressing they scrutinize the Trump administration plenty.

“No one likes to be fact-checked. There’s a simple way to avoid it. And there’s a big difference between the colossal amount of time we spend fact-checking Trump (7,645 false/misleading claims and counting) and TWO fact-checks of @AOC,” Post reporter Sal Rizzo tweeted.

Ocasio-Cortez then seemed to back down.

“Fact-checking is critically important. It’s not always fun. But that’s okay! It pushes me to be better. It is important that if fact-checkers are referees, everyone know the rules –and those rules be as clear + fair as possible for all to play,” she said. “Thank you for the work you do.”

Ocasio-Cortez, in an interview Sunday on CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” was asked about the criticism over factual errors and argued it's more important to be "morally right."

“I think that there’s a lot of people more concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

But she said it's still important to be factually correct and she owns up when she says something "clumsy."

"But it’s not the same thing as the president lying about immigrants. It’s not the same thing at all," she said.

This woman simply does not have an ounce of credibility anywhere in her body. Juvenile, irrational, illiterate, disrespectful, unqualified, and un-American are all accurate ways to describe AOC.

True.... Crowley took everything for granted. He could have won. And then... he'd have been back in Washington again (hosing all of us)... as you said.

But would we be better off? I say no.
I think we are better off with the vapid, socialist-commie. Why? Well, because she won't vote any different than Crowley, really. So it's a wash as far as what happens in Congress.
But at least the Commie Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez-Macarena-Hey-Macarena is exposing the socialism the Democrat party now stands for.
The 'old Democrats' vote for it... but don't want to talk about it.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

This woman is dangerous. If we have an economic downturn, it will give her strength. The camel's nose is under the tent. I would not dismiss her lightly. They need to get after her asap. She is clever, young and the MSM will give her all the airtime she desires. They already are. We need Karl Rove on this case.

She is clever...
Not even close. She's a nitwit speaking to fellow nitwits saying exactly what nitwits want to here. Disclosing your intent to tax people at 70% is not clever, even if your fellow nitwits applaud it. And the continual screw up reel on this nitwit is only going to gain speed as her ego continues to grow without any intellect to support it.

That knife cuts both ways. IMO she's only a few major screw ups from completely burning out. She's stupid enough to believe her own BS, and that will eventually put her on a collision course with a majority of the DNC, all of the GOP, and a huge majority of independents. She's today's new shiny object that tomorrow will be discarded for the next new shiny object.

I’d guess at some point, she’s going to get hung up on a campaign finance irregularly. She’s the type too busy railing against “corrupt politicians” to actually take the time to follow the rules herself, ya know, cause morals are more important than facts. Plus she’s about to learn the constant fundraising you have to maintain. Pretty soon that dirty PAC money will be an offer she can’t refuse. That will destroy her brand.

She's not as dangerous as Beto O'Rourke.
That guy is selling the same poison, but he's a much more articulate and widely appealing foe.

A long string of truly evil men and women didn't start out that way, and weren't particularly bright, or particularly articulate, and may actually have had humanitarian intentions somewhere along the line. The Senātus Populusque Rōmānus gave them their power and authority, and metaphorically not just in ancient Rome. They would otherwise have been harmless idiots unknown to history. A lesson to be frequently, painfully, relearned.
