That place has had so much history.

I assume you took the photo.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

No, Justice Wise posted it on his Facebook page. I wanted to go today, but had work obligations I could not avoid.

OK, that took me a whole bunch of minutes and now I can't stop giggling.

Loved those Texas
one room schools

I was blessed with getting to attend various Texas elementary schools when Dad wasn't working in other states. I thought their text books were first class and certainly inspired patriotism in the young students. I don't recall the elementary text books in Kentucky, New Mexico, and Wyoming having near the patriotic impact of the Texas books.

I thank the citizens of Cincinnati for their donation of the twin six pounder cannons-I think there would be an interesting story behind that.
