Winners announcement thread is here:220st Raffle Winners

Our fellow member, friend and firearms peddler 220ST needs help. He is having to suspend his SCP firearms business temporarily in order to increase his finances for personal and medical reasons. He has helped out many of us and we need to help him.

So as a way of returning the favor I am going to hold a raffle. There will be several prizes to win.

quote:
Washington Post’s Book World: Editorial Reviews
From The Washington Post's Book World/washingtonpost.com
If you're looking for a true story that showcases both American heroism and Afghani humanity, Marcus Luttrell's Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10 (Little, Brown, $24.99), written with Patrick Robinson, may be the book for you. In June of 2005, Luttrell led a four-man team of Navy SEALs into the mountains of Afghanistan on a mission to kill a Taliban leader thought to be allied with Osama bin Laden. On foot, the team encountered two adult men and a teenage boy. A debate broke out as to whether the SEALs should summarily execute the trio to keep them from alerting the Taliban. Luttrell himself was called upon to make the decision. He was torn between considerations of morality and his survival instinct, and he points out that "any government that thinks war is somehow fair and subject to rules like a baseball game probably should not get into one. Because nothing's fair in war, and occasionally the wrong people do get killed."

quote:
Precision Gun Specialties:
"Brightly colored plastic and a different “feel” makes sure you won’t confuse these for live rounds. Popular with many departments and agencies for use in Immediate Action training for just that reason. These do not duplicate weight and balance of loaded rounds or function-testing dummies."

I get paid the 31st so I'll be able to contribute then. If my check somehow doesn't make it by raffle's end it's no big deal, just forward the funds to 220ST anyway. The speakers would be cool, but aren't really the point here.

Thanks for putting this together. This is yet another example of why I love SIGforum! Way to be everbody!

Michael, I did nothing. I did absolutely nothing, and it was everything that I thought it could be.

Good of you to do this. I have no need or intended use for the speakers, but will gladly donate what I can for Steve.

I do not want in on the raffle. But, I will be sending a donation, you'll just have to wait until I get paid the first week of August.

I don't know Steve, but I've been there, it sucks.

I was going to KARMA a $50 Gift Certificate, in stead it will go to help Steve. The check money order will be in the mail tomorrow. I have bought from Steve and just shot the poop with him on the phone many times, he is a quality guy.

Thanks for organizing this.

Georgia members shooting this Saturday I will bring my check book and a card. We can send our donations in together if you all wish. Save some stamps and consolidate our efforts.
