Me, too, para. I've now lived in Texas almost 38 years and came here back in 1980 because my best friend said I should. It's been great, and the Texans have accepted this old Detroiter just fine.

Well, as my Godfather used to say, being Texan is all well and good, but I am proud to be a Wyomingite.

Texans are just like us, except there's fewer of us, and we like that just fine.

Two years in SA, so not a born-in-Texas Texan, but Tennesseans have been there before. One of my favorites:

I was at a wedding for my niece in Georgetown earlier this year and I was exclaiming to some family and new friends how great it was to be a Texan; some of them laughed and jokingly tell me I just got here, how can I be a Texan. Until I reminded them of this quote, that Crockett was a Texan for just a few weeks before killed.

Of course they slap me on the back and welcome me, because they never thought that someone from CA would have the views and values I have.

I have traveled to 48 states in the union, but I feel truly blessed to have been born and lived all of my life in Texas.

Was born in Alabama but raised in east Texas. Henderson then Mt. Pleasent and Pittsburgh. So many memories as a kid/teen in Texas. Will always consider myself a Texan.

Always wanted to buy a house around Lake O the pines or Bob Sandlin.

Para, still plenty of land available around Nacogdoches, Center, Lufkin, Jacksonville, even Tyler. It'd be an honor to have you back!

I AM proud to be an American and proud of our country. Nice they can play that without some whiny little leftist musician getting his butt hurt because President Trump is playing a song.

To stay with the Texas theme. Skynyrd playing T for Texas
