I just want to follow one. Pretty sexy from that angle in my opinion.

Well, I do like the GT, however the Vette gets 2 more cylinders and 1/10th the price.

What did you guys expect for a GM interior? GM has been building cheap looking, poor fitting, out dated interiors for as long as I can remember.

GM has done crappy interiors for as long as I can remember, I feel for the interior designers, you know it was a bean counter that messed up the products for all those years.

If you go to the link posted by BigSwede above there is a video of the interior and the engineers talking about the design, why things were done the way they were.

I'm not a fan of the tablet screens in the new cars, they work, but they look stupid when mounted like the vette, almost like, oh shit we forgot the tablet!

Daughter has a Kia Telluride, top of the line, it still has that upright screen, looks dumb, Ram and Tesla got it right, integrated,

Although it probably costs a ton to get the integrated units out for replacement.

I would have loved if GM would have bucked the trend and gone back to regular old gauges and manual controls.

The problem with these new cars is that in 20 yrs from now those goofy screens will be either broken or look incredibly outdated.

With that being said, the GM interior thing is just a reputation/myth now. I have purchased 3 Honda products in the past 7 years and none of them had great interiors. Find me one car that doesn't have plastic in the interior.

Wow! That car is a home run.

Mid engine car that will accelerate 0-60 under 3 seconds, handle better than you can drive with a nice interior and my golf clubs still fit in the back. All for less than $60k, that’s unbelievable.

Only problem is you’re going to see them everywhere because this car has just smashed everything in the bang for your buck performance category.

Overall, I think it looks good.
Rear has a bit too much Camaro in it.
The gloss black 'side intakes' if they're functional, look a bit out of place.
Those A/C controls Eek Who thought that was a good idea, looks atrocious in photos.

All that said, performance per $, it's pretty awesome.

Will need to see in person to decide, not that I can afford it.

The Corvair was rear engine. The new Vette is mid engine. The handling characteristics will be much different.

Funny you should say that - I'm one month into a 2 yr plan to have zero debt outside of a mortgage. The problem is that plan was setup to afford private high school for my oldest. So realistically I will be broke for around the next 15 yrs (I have 3 kids)

I took a look again at bigswedes link, specifically the interior, with the close up images it actually looks to be well done, quality materials not typical plastic gm...

Maybe they learnt somethin....

Now that right there is funny. Once dealers start marking these things up (i.e. gouging), $60k will be a fleeting memory.

Only for a year or so. It’s a Corvette, it’s as cheap(relatively) as corvettes have always been, they will make a bazillion of them and in two years they will be commonplace.

I have to say though well done GM. If the execution is done well this thing is pretty amazing even if I don’t care for every little detail.

My brother has a silver one of those with blue stripes, gorgeous car. Also just got a silver 488 Pista Ferrari. Too much disposable income.

I sure hope you guys are right about mass production and them being everywhere in a couple of years.

I won't buy new, but a couple year old model that has been taken care of - exactly my sweet spot for not loosing my ass in depreciation.

Yeah I'd make room in the garage to drive it half the year.

Cheers~

True,

I worked for a Chevrolet dealer when the Camaro was reintroduced & when the C6 ZR1 came out.

They both had 'Market Adjustments' on them
Camaros, even the V6, were minimum $2k markup, 2SS was something like $7k.

ZR1s were something like $10k markup, IIRC.

Only stuck around on them for 4-6 months, then they were marked at sticker MSRP.

A running joke around here

Sir, did you want the optional dash mounted Viagra dispenser with your new Vette? All Chevy accessories are covered under the factory warranty. Smile

I expect this new model will lower the average age of Vette buyers some.
