My immediate family of my parents and brother are all gone now I am going to spend the afternoon with my deep lib inlaws. Most can quote the UAW and NEA party line that sounds like it was lifted line for line from Marx and Engles writings. In past years we have been rather vocal about our beliefs. My BIL is getting alcohol debilitated the last few years and has really come up with some doozies. He is also an atheist. Last year he was talking about Jesus ministering in Portugal (well, it does start with a P). I laughed so hard I almost injured myself. Anyway, I escape from room to room til it’s time to go. Even his kids roll their eyes. This year I plan to totally ignore any political talk from anyone there. Instead I will once again get up and leave the room. I will refrain drinking adult beverage lest I get to loud and make an ass out of myself like he does at every get-together. And this is why I hate the holidays. My life was so much better when I didn’t have to deal with this pack of idiots. Please excuse this post, I need to vent/rant before I leave the house. My daughter is pretty much right down the middle. Left on some things, right on others. My son is definitely right in his views. My wife is slightly left (with her own time and money). As far as any of them trying to spoil our Thanksgiving, the chances are absolutely zero. We enjoy hanging with each other too much. Hell, we can even discuss politics on holidays and no one gets butt hurt. I have never read GQ until I clicked the link. Now I know why.

However, it put a smile on my face and happiness in my heart that 'our' president is still causing liberal loons this amount of daily mental anguish this far removed from last years election.
