How much fecal matter in a glass of pure water before your stop calling it pristine?

The argument is not about the honorable service and sacrifice McCain made, it is about the purposeful dishonorable things he chose to do, and most of it many years before this cancer. And this continued and current behavior does not deviate from his track record.

Trying to hand all the crap off and let cancer walk out of the room and leave the big elephant is disingenuous and insulting to those left point it at it.

McCain: honorable service in the past.

Now: brain cancer....delusional thoughts.

'nuff said.

Yes, McCain has earned a modicum of respect, AND, he has earned a deluge of disrespect. Doing something heroic and honorable does not then entitle the person to live a life of ignominy and disgust. And I wonder how the argument re your high school friends father would go over in a court of law.

Bullseye.

Unless it has already been mentioned and I missed it, McCain was also one of the Keating Five. Probably where some or most of his money came from.

Easy to figure because McCain is not a republican but a RINO! Everything he ever did in congress was supportive of the dems. I have said this before....I despise McCain and all of his ilk associates. I'll toast a beer or two when he finally passes on. Nothing to see here......Good Riddance to stinking crap.

Yeah that's why I put Republican in quotes. McCain was also not just part of the Keating 5 but was the only one of the 5 who was a long time friend of Keating.

I'll frankly be glad when we can stop hearing his bullshit.

Trump rips on everybody who rivals him in any way. Rubio and Cruz got over it, for the good of the country. McCain never did.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Most of his money actually came from marrying into an extremely wealthy family. He didn't do as well as John Kerry in that department, but he's not hurting.

Maybe the President and VP will be too busy to attend. Something vital to the Republic like a little league game or pardoning Thanksgiving Day turkeys. . .

For the past 10 years, I DO NOT CARE what mccain has done or not done in military service (and the 'honorable' part of his service is in doubt, as many claim he sold out fellow POWs in Vietnam). He squandered ANY good will he had decades ago. He is a lousy POS politician and is worse than most democrats. At least Nancy Pelosi and the hildabeast aren't deceiving people into thinking they are something they are not (mccain should NEVER have a (R) after his name).

Maybe your friend’s dad would have had the good sense to recognize hyperbole when he heard it.

There is that claim, that has not been proven nor disproven. Given his proven lack of honor since then, what are the odds of his having staunch honor back then?

No regrets about voting for him in 2008. The other choices - Obama, third party or staying home - were unacceptable. I can't say I did it with enthusiasm, knowing it was a forlorn hope.
