Duluth Double Flex look like regular jeans but flex and stretch a ton.
Most comfortable jeans I have found. A bit pricey but they offer 20% off frequently.

Plus when they wear out or get a hole you take them back and get a new pair.

As to the OP Jeans are the last thing I want to wear doing yard work.
I have a ton of the Vertx lightweight pants I wear for yard work, vehicle work, etc.

Even pricier.... BUT... Duluth does offer a line of Made in America jeans.

Cheaper, Made in USA, but I have no experience with: https://www.round-house.com/

thanks all

Wranglers it is - easy to get, relatively cheap because these are going to get used for yard work and get pretty messed up with mesquite oil pretty quick

Exactly, which is why I go to Good Will. Can't beat $4 work pants with lots of life left in them. When I wear them out I go back and get another $4 pair. (Yes, I'm a cheap ass.)

This thread made me realize, I don't wear jeans/denim except as a nicer pair of pants, other times I'm wearing shorts or, outdoor/tactical brands pants.
For jeans, these have become my favorites. Currently on Sale so, might buy another but, several hidden zip-pockets, good stretch and a darker dye make for nice evening or, travel pants.

I have a couple a pair of the flex work pants and shorts. But for yard work, I wear their original Fire Hose Work Pants. They are made out of fire hose material, which is essential here in AZ where every growing thing has stickers or thorns of some kind.

They have two sales they run frequently. Free shipping for an order of $50 or more. Free shipping and 20% off for orders of $75 or more. Get on their mailing list (snail mail) and receive these offers regularly. You can pick up a pair of the Fire Hose pants plus a small item to make $75 for that offer.

When in doubt, mumble

Another vote for Costco/Kirkland $11.99 - Perfect for working on stuff. Mess em up and whoops, another $12.

Buy US military BDU’s from thrift stores for yard work; the local goodwill has netted me around 6 pair of woodland camo, a pair of Desert storm tri-color, a pair of Desert Storm chocolate chip Marine desert digi-cam, and a couple of Air Force ABU digital (Air National Guard nearby). They were all around $6-8 apiece, hide stains, and last forever.

I wouldn’t dream of doing yard work in denim. I’ll chainsaw in Carharts, but that’s about the only deviation.

++1

For yard work especially, stuff from thrift stores works great and is cheap. I've found Carhart and Duluth clothing in new condition at thrift stores and it's frankly turned in to my primary choice for most clothing.

Belt loops on Levi's jeans always rip out for me.

I now only purchase Made in the USA jeans.

I switched to at All American 7+ years ago. still wearing a few of the original ones I bought for yard/shop work jeans. For daily wear, they have lasted a long time, and fit well.

May try Diamond Gusset Jeans next.
