Nope MP's now use hollow points. I know becasue I was one, we got them in 2006 and were one of the last units to get them in the military.

That's good to hear. My wife switched from Being and MP to a Career Counselor in 2005 and it was still Ball ammo then. She served at FT Hood with the 89th MP Bde form 1997-2000.

Props to her. Just wish someone would have sent the killer to his death very early on.

That was truly a heroic response, by a civilian Police Officer, Mother, and Citizen. Now, may I be the first to propose that she be nominated for, and awarded, the Silver Star.

Yeah, I know it's a Military award, however in this particular case I feel that it's entirely appropriate and she deserves the recognition.

Her face needs to be plastered on billboards on I-35 from Oklahoma to Laredo to remind us of what a true hero looks like!

Not a bad idea for a job well done.

I'm not sure the guy that did the shooting will have a long life to contemplate his failures. He was in the military, and committed what, in my recollection was a capital crime on a military base. This should come under the UCMJ. He should get a general court marshal and be judged by a jury of his peers-probably other offficers and senior NCO's. I was told, when I was under the same code, that that kind of jury isn't swayed as easily or is a sympathetic as a civilian jury.

This whole story is awesome. What a hero.

Anyone know anything about her partner? They evidently confronted this scumbag together but I haven't heard a word about him or even his name?

kinda weird.

News just reported Officer Munley is in stable condition after undergoing surgery to repair a severed artery. Took multiple rounds to the legs and arms. First thing she asked upon awakening was whether anyone had died.

That really bears repeating. Sadly, too many swallow the PC news swill as if it was manna from heaven.

Just Google up some Quran'ic contents for yourself, it's all out there. Spend some time reading...the PC folks obviously haven't done this.

While there is legitimately good stuff in there that can keep you out of trouble and sets a good precedent for Muslims to follow, there is some pretty rotten stuff in there too that also sets bad precedents to follow. Things get really rotten during the parts of the Quran detailing battles fought by Muhammad. Ever wonder why beheading was a favored way for Iraqi insurgents to kill prisoners....there is precedence for it in the Quran. In one instance Muhammad has an entire city of men and post pubescent boys beheaded and dumped in a trench after he conquers their city.

There is other generally rotten stuff too outside of the battles like pre-pubescent child brides and women as spoils of war. Heck to mix it up a little Muhammad conquers the city of Kheibar, beheads the head honcho there, and then takes said honcho's wife as his own.

That all being said, reading the Quran doesn't make you a western civilization hating, child bride taking, beheading jihadist and the large majority of the Muslims out there obviously don't follow Muhammad's examples to the T. But it always irks me when people blindly refer to Islam as the religion of peace when it is so obvious that there are very bad things in the Islamic holy book to anyone who has spent 30 minutes reading the Quranic Suras.
